Naïve
It is a dream, a boy's naïve dream unfolding its wings and taking flight. It's not a pretty sight, because it's a dream painted in the red hues of blood and pain. It's filled with hearts that are broken, the flesh having torn and the occasional sinful bit having been taken from the flesh. It's violent and nasty and nothing like what a dream should be. It's dirty and dark, and it's horrible.
But it's a dream, a naïve boys dream nonetheless. The colors that should have been used to paint the picture, soft but bright hues of gold and purple and blue, and so many colors, are oddly absent. It's all red, and dark and hideous. It's covered in death, with ruptured hearts, the flesh having spilled out and the blue veins standing out to large as the heart suffers through it's remainder of life.
Then there is silence, as the dream ends and the hearts beating goes silent and it stops bleeding. It's damning, the silence, it screams out how unfair the world was. How could it have crushed this boys dream so ruthlessly? An ugly dream it may be, but a dream nonetheless.
Matsuda, gazes at the corpse of the…the boy he had helped to end and he knows this will sit with him for eternity. The guilt, it's overbearing because Light looks so young, so beautiful and cold. So very alive, like he's asleep, though the horrible truth is that he's dead. A boy twisted by his dreams and circumstances that defy logic.
Yes, it's a boys dreams taking flight the day Light Yagami wrote those names in that plain looking black book. The wings the dream flies with may be ragged and stained but they fly till the very end.
They fly until the end when the naïve kingdom the boy built comes crashing down, blood leaking through the stones as they crumble and skulls being crushed into a fine white powder.
Oh.
Fly over me evil angel.
Why can't I breathe evil angel?
-Evil Angel by Breaking Benjamin
A/N: This is a drabble inspired by the song mentioned above. Yeah, a bit repetitive but I like it. If you have a problem whatever, I'm tired so MEH.
