The Amazing Spider-Girl

Prologue

A hazy fog blanketed the room along a comforting scent which was similar to a mix of a cinnamon and other questionable things. Two tall, humanoid beings were seated at long table of what seemed to be made out of the night sky. The star-like objects glittered as the two shared a light discussion.

"So, my friend," said the first, his voice deep but light-hearted. "What is it that you seek there?" He pointed at a specific spot near the center of the table.

"Isn't it obvious?" answered the second, raspily. "It's her." She waved her hand over the table and a bright flash of light lit up the room through the mist, reflecting off her unusually large red eyes.

The first's eyes narrowed, puzzled. "Her? Are you certain?"

"You doubt my choosing?" interjected the second, eyes flashing through the fog. "Don't you remember what happened the last time?"

The first sighed heavily. "Yes, but…she isn't him."

"True, but that doesn't mean that we can't test her like we did with him."

The first nodded; doubt plagued his thoughts about his partner's decision. "Very well, my Lady, do as you see fit. This will be an interesting game to see put into play..."

The second leaned in, folding her fingers together. "Yes, quite. Maybe we should keep an eye on the others in the meantime?"

The first one chuckled. "Of course. Who doesn't love to set up the pieces?"

A/N: Hello everyone! I'm here with a new story. (No, it's not Danny Phantom). It's a Spider-Man story! I've been planning this project for over five months now ever since I started watching The Spectacular Spider-Man (which has currently finished a great first season. Now I have to wait until the DVD set comes out...Go watch it!) and I think it's time to put it into play. Try and guess who's pulling the strings...

Sorry about the length in this chapter. The prologue was shorter than I thought it would be when I was thinking about it. Expect the first chapter of the first storyline: A Bite of Fate, to be uploaded very soon. In the meantime, please read and review!
