Percy's Father's Day
So here is the sequel to my Mother's Day story. Hope you like it and please review. Told from Percy's POV.
Disclaimer: I don't own Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
On Mother's Day I went with my best friend Annabeth to Olympus give her mom a Mother's Day card. As we were leaving, we bumped into my dad, Poseidon. Now he wants a card. Annabeth and I are sitting in my cabin making Father's Day cards. I don't know what kind of standards my dad lives up to when it comes to cards, so I'm under a lot of pressure to make it good. That's why I asked Annabeth to help me. She's had tons of experience making cards for her dad, and I did help her make her Mother's Day card.
I started off by decorating the card with lots of aquatic designs. You could say that was the easy part, because then I had to write something. What could you write on a Father's Day card to one of the Big Three?
"Percy, I think you're overthinking about this," Annabeth said. "It's just a card."
"I know," I said. "I just don't want to disappoint him."
"I'm sure that whatever you write your dad will appreciate it."
"Thanks Annabeth," I said as I gave Annabeth a peck on the cheek. I hope she couldn't see me blushing.
I finished my card and asked Argus to take Annabeth and me to the Empire State Building. I wanted to give Dad this card personally. When we got to the 600th floor, I found him tending to Bessie, the cow thing (a/n couldn't remember what it was called. Sorry).
"Hello Percy," he greeted me. "What brings you to Olympus today?"
"To give you this," I said as I handed the card to him.
He opened the card and read:
Dear Dad,
I know that we never really see each other, but I want you to know how much I thank you for everything that you've done for me. You probably don't get much graditude from your kids, so this is my way of saying thanks. Happy Father's Day!
Love, Percy
As he read the card, I could only stand there in fear, hoping that he liked it. Annabeth looked over at me, and she was just as nervous as I was.
"Perseus," Poseidon said. Oh gods, he hated it. "This is probably the nicest thing any of my children have ever done for me. This was just what I needed in times like this."
He pulled me into a hug and almost suffocated me. "I'm glad you liked it, Dad."
Annabeth and I were walking towards the elevator when she said to me, "That was a great thing you did Percy."
"Thanks, but I hope Kronos isn't expecting a Grandparent's Day card now."
How was it? I hoped you liked it, and please review.
