Author note: Set fairly soon after the last battle
Ginny sat up in bed thinking. She was alone in the room, as Hermione had disappeared quite some time ago to "go and say goodnight to Ron". Huh. She flopped back on the pillow and closed her eyes as she heard familiar footsteps outside. Why now? Maybe if she pretended she was asleep he'd go away.
"Ginny?" He was inside her room now. Perhaps if she kept really still- she felt the mattress dip slightly under his weight- or perhaps not. She felt him lean over and kiss her softly on the lips. "Ginny, I know you're awake." She turned her head away from the sound of his voice.
"Go away," she muttered into the pillow.
"What's the matter Gin?" She opened her eyes. Damn him for being so nice.
"Nothing," she replied, involuntarily hugging her stomach. He glanced worriedly at her.
"Do you have a stomach ache? I'll call your mum," he turned, about to walk out of the room.
"No stop. I've just…got my period," she didn't meet his eyes, he probably felt disgusted now. She heard him come back to her bed and sit down beside her. Surely he didn't still want to kiss her?
"Come here," he had moved back so that he was leaning against the wall. She obeyed, shuffling backwards until she felt his warm arms around her. "Where does it hurt?" Giving him a puzzled look she pointed to her lower stomach. He lifted the hem of her pyjama top slightly and placed a warm hand on her stomach. "Tell me if I'm hurting you, 'kay?" he asked, rubbing gently. She nodded drowsily, the dull aching pain had lessoned already and she was feeling sleepy. Her last thoughts before she slept were "I hope I wake up before Ron come in."
