"I'm sorry. I'm going to cling to you."

Sora x Riku

Soiku

The guilt ate Riku up inside. It ate him up and chewed him to bits and spit him out without any remorse. It was his fault his island—his home, as well as everyone else's—was smashed to pieces by the heartless. It was all his fault. His his his, and no one could tell him otherwise. I'm sorry, he shouted to his namesake. I'm sorry. I was young and naïve and stupid. Please, forgive me! His voice rang out into the crash waves in the distance and he stood waiting, hoping, praying that he would be forgiven.

He was not.

In all honesty, he didn't expect it. To be forgiven, that is. He'd done something so terribly, horribly wrong—there was no way he'd be forgiven. No way, he was positive of that. After everything he'd done and caused… it was laughable. Maybe, just maybe, he really should've stayed in the darkness where he belonged. It would've been much, much better than being shunned by his own home.

And then, he reached out his hand for him. Sora.

More than anything, Riku wanted to cling to him, cling to him and pour every weak feeling out of his overly weak heart and cry and beg for forgiveness, because he felt that Sora would let him. For once in a long while, he felt that Sora would accept him, and in that moment Riku realized that Sora really was 'Light'. In that moment, something flickered inside Riku that he couldn't quite explain, and without hesitation, he took Sora's hand.

I'm sorry, Sora. I'm going to cling to you.
