x a letter x subaseka/twewy x revised
Deep in the shadows of an ownerless room, there is a very well hidden box. The box is a decorative wooden one, with hinges and a small lock. The key to this box has long disappeared. A letter is placed in this box, snugly in the arms of a black cat plushie. It looks rather worse for the wear, stained with streaks that may have come from tears and blotches of ink where the writer seems to have paused, wondering what words could possibly convey her feelings.
Despite the state of the letter, the cat is in perfect condition. Not one thread is loose, and the black of the cloth is still pristine, as if somebody is taking care of it still. Its white eyes stare out blankly, searching for an owner that it will never find in this world.
The letter's words are still legible, a messy scrawl.
I never meant to hurt you, when I told you that you weren't fit to be a clothes designer.
It's just that we were a team, you know? I designed the clothes, and you made them - it was the perfect partnership.
Not any more, of course. I doubt I'll ever find anybody who will bring my clothes to life like you did.
But I just hope that you understand, somehow, somewhere.
And I hope you'll forgive me.
On the top of the decorative wooden box with hinges and a small lock, in which a letter is placed, snugly in the arms of a black cat plushie, there are six words written in childish writing:
Shiki and Eri - Best Friends Forever
