Okay, well, I wrote these little drabbles for a school project. I composed them with Tezuka and Fuji in mind, but changed the character names and characterization just a little bit. I really liked them, though, so I changed the names and edited little bits and pieces here and there. I haven't written TezuFuji in a long time, but I actually like these. I think they're pleasantly understated.

A Thousand Words

"Hey, Tezuka, this is a good game, hmm?"

"Mm."

Fuji smiled and rocked back onto the heels of his feet.

"He's got a good forehand," he continued.

"Mm," Tezuka agreed with a small nod of his head.

"His net play is a bit questionable."

"Mm."

"Do you think he'll make varsity?" Fuji's eyes were hidden beneath his lids, and his lips were bent in a gentle smile. Tezuka remained silent, and instead cocked an eyebrow. "I didn't think so either," Fuji agreed.

"Mm."

Familiar

"Yo, Tezuka," the grinning man behind the counter called, flicking a lever on the coffee press. Tezuka simply nodded in greeting and slid 1.50 across the counter. In return, the man handed him a small cup of black coffee.

"Thank you," Tezuka said, accepting the drink with slender fingers.

"Yep. See you tomorrow, Tezuka."

"Mm."

To Smile

The leaves landed with soundless ripples, gently kissing the surface of the water before slipping under. Across the fence, smoke drifted lazily from a quaint brick chimney. Tezuka took a long, slow, sip of tea and breathed in the scent of his neighbor's fire. A gust of wind sent a stray tennis ball rolling into the pond, and Tezuka smiled.

Stalk

"Tezuka, dance! What are you, a statue?"

"Mm."

Fuji sighed and melded back into the bobbing crowd. Tezuka watched him go, a slight frown marring his features. Moments later, however, Fuji was back, followed by a young girl in a low-slung top and too much makeup.

"She'll teach you!" Fuji announced, and Tezuka did not miss the sadistic glint in his teammate's eyes. He arched a slender brow, gave a brief shake of his head, and stalked out of the club.

Luck

"Hey, Tezuka."

The bespectacled boy glanced up from his duffel bag into the smiling face of his best friend.

"Hello."

"Almost done?" Fuji asked, flopping onto his bed. He picked up a book from Tezuka's nightstand and flipped through it.

"Almost," Tezuka replied, eyeing him warily.

"Great!" Fuji sat up with a grin, tossing the book back onto the table. "Oh, and I brought you something." Raising his eyebrows, Tezuka sat back on his heels, letting the top of his bag fall closed. He was interested now. Fuji reached into his jeans pocket and pulled out a thin, red braid with a tiny yellow bead woven into center. "Okay, give me your hand." Tezuka uncertainly extended his arm, and Fuji leaned forward, his light hair falling across his face. He nimbly secured the bracelet around Tezuka's wrist before sitting back, smiling.

"Thanks," Tezuka muttered, blushing.

"Mmhmm," Fuji hummed, nodding. "It's for good luck." He grinned. "Do you like it?" Tezuka smiled back.

"Yeah."

Reviews are awesome, of course! :)
