Rain
The rainy days were her favorite.
Sakura stood alone in a forest inside Rain country. It was just outside an outpost town she was staying at. She wanted to be here so she could be alone. She had a mission in snow and wanted to see if she could catch the rain while she was here. Most people hated the rain, but she wasn't like most people. She loved the rain.
Whenever she was depressed it would make her happy. After a battle it would wash the blood away. And she cried, it washed the tears away too.
She loved the rain so much, she would make a detour to Rain country whenever she could. And she always went to Rain country on vacation. All she wanted to do was stand there, feeling the rain on her skin.
People would think she was crazy when it rained. She would dance and sing, while every one else ran into their houses. Even though her parents had died, at the funeral, it rained and she had smiled.
It was strange to her, too. It was like some one was controlling the weather to make it rain when she was upset. Just to make her smile and be happy. But the only person who could do that was the Leader of the Akatsuki, Pein. But he wasn't watching her, she would notice, wouldn't she?
A drop of rain fell on her nose. She smiled as it began to pour down on her. She laughed, letting the tears flow. Tears from killing the innocent, tears from the pain her teammates had unknowingly caused her, tears from Tsunade underestimating her. If she was smart, she would have left by now. But she cared for them too much to leave.
And she hated it.
"Princess, why are you crying?" Sakura turned around. The Leader of the Akatsuki. So he was watching her.
"I..."
"Do you not love the rain?" he asked gently.
Sakura shook her head. "No, I love the rain."
"Is that why you always come here?"
Sakura looked up at him and smiled. She nodded. He stepped forward. She didn't move. He walked closer to her until he was just inches away from her face.
'Kiss him Saku-chan!' her inner urged. Sakura ignored her.
"If it rained every day, would you stay?" he asked, whispering. His hot breath tickled her cheek.
Sakura thought about it. Would she stay? With him, together, in the rain he created? She was sure now he created the rain everytime she was sad. She knew it now. But would she leave everything she loved behind for a man she only just met?
She smiled, and she knew. She leaned forward and kissed him on the lips. He immedietly responded.
She would.
It never stopped raining, but she wouldn't have left even if it did. She loved the rain for another reason now.
For bringing her to him.
