Alright, I've 'joined the bandwagon' to put it as so many others. :) I couldn't resist adding my own little attempt to the other brilliant 221B works. I can't say that this is anywhere near as ingenious as half of the rest of y'alls, but hey, I haven't seen any poetry attempts as of yet! :)

Oh, and I WILL eventually update the "The Case of the Discerning Heiress", I swear by my eye, I'm just being smothered by life presently and will reemerge as soon as poss.

P.S. This darn document edit thing won't let me space correctly so I apologize in advance for the squished-ness of the stanzas. (Now I understand all the author irritation about chapter problems!)

Please review! Thx awfully!

A wisping tendril of fog,

The chill of night,

A wish,

A want,

For all at last to be made right.

A stealthy step,

A rapidly breathed breath,

A turn,

A halt,

A quick brush with death.

A typical day,

In a not so typical life,

A ray,

A light,

In this a world of strife.

Solitary perhaps at first,

Though not alone ere long,

A meeting,

An acquaintance,

A further defence against wrong.

Though weakened by hateful war,

By no means slighted in heart,

A loyal,

A stalwart,

Friend ne'er to depart.

Sometimes side by side,

More often back to back,

A blockade,

A fortress,

Against many an unseen attack.

All for an endless expanse,

A stretch of winding time,

A revolving,

A rotation,

For the many saved, eternity divine.

A partnership unfathomed,

A tie unknown by mortal eye,

Not by smile,

Not by pain,

Can this bond be brought to die.

By way of many a fearsome storm,

Through ceaseless cycling terror,

Not one shot,

Not one arrow,

Does unbalance the half-burden of either bearer.

Both gifted by One,

Yet aided by so few,

Ever remaining,

Ever sustaining,

Long after lone courage ought be torn through.

Two striving as but one,

A force of justice beyond remark,

Alone one searching,

Alone one lost,

Together, a God-fashioned bulwark.
