A poem I wrote for an English project. My teacher understands my obsession with Harry Potter.
A Snake's Choice
Thrice defied before and defied repeatedly,
my choices are growing thin and growing heatedly.
A snake marks the follower, the inescapable mark.
I can't believe it got this way with my future clouded in the dark.
A snake is drawn towards the prey, drawn like a map.
He can't decide its meal, or which will set a trap.
I've blinded the sight of many, and the snake has had its tricks.
I can't believe our games have led this way, has made us all transfixed.
Unarguable need and an unarguable end,
One mistake out weighs the one curse that I send.
A thousand people dead, a thousand more to hurt,
And all of it weighs down on which boy's life I curse.
I can't deny the options, can't deny my fate.
I only have one guess to make, best make it play out straight.
Crawling through the dirt and sliding through my skin,
An undesirable choice, whether to kill Harry or Neville instead.
Review, tell me what you think.
