Chapter 34: The Brightest Witch of Her Time

Everyone spun around as Hermione crashed into the infirmary doors.

"Blood!" she exclaimed. "We need Blaise's blood. And Draco's."

Everyone looked at her, confusion written on their faces.

"They're bonded. If we can combine their blood with a potion, it could wake Blaise."

Hermione saw a flicker of hope in their eyes.

"But if we were bonded, wouldn't he have tried to take my magic to awake like them," Draco said indicating Ava and Lily.

"No. Blaise isn't dead. So his soul, his spirit is still in his body. But if we take your blood and combine it-"

"You mean put a charm on it?" Adrian said.

"Yes, and combine it with a potion. It may work."

Before Draco could cast doubt, Hermione walked towards him and put his hand in hers.

"You and Blaise are soulmates, Draco. You know it. We all know it. Close your eyes."

Reluctantly, Draco did as she asked.

"Now look deep down in to your magic. Find Blaise."

Draco caught his breath and grasped Hermione's hand tight. "I feel him."

The signs of relief were audible in the usually quiet infirmary.

"Excellent! What does he feel?"

"He's scared and he's worried."

Draco opened his eyes and released Hermione's hand. Before Hermione knew it, she was in a crushing hug with him and Ava.

"My my," Adrian said with a smile on his face. "Looks like you've had your expert here the whole time."

"She really is the brightest witch of her time," said Lily.

"Absolutely," replied Severus as he saw Ava's eyes brighten with hope.

"But what about the potion?" Lily asked.

"The Wiggenweld Potion," Adrian said.

"Do you think it would work?"

"With a charm component on the blood, without a doubt. Severus?"

Severus nodded is head. "Agreed. However, my knowledge of charms is advanced, but Lily and Remus's... well, you know it was."

Lily smiled. Although she was fantastic at Transfiguration, Charms was her passion. Remus bested her by less than half a point on their NEWTS.

"What are Hermione's Charm grades?" Lily asked though she already knew the answer.

"Perfect. Filtwick has said he hasn't seen such passion for the subject since..." Severus smirked looking knowingly at Lily.

"Well, I'm sure he wouldn't mind lending his star pupil another day or so."

Severus let out a small chuckle. "I'm sure he wouldn't."

Harry left the infirmary to gather his thoughts. He was more than elated about waking Blaise, but he was still disturbed about Tom's statement. How was he going to see him? Is he in the Chamber of Secrets? He had no idea where it was located.

Harry stopped when he heard Dumbledore's voice. It was only seconds after he hid when he saw Dumbledore, Ron Weasley, and his parents come around the corner. Ron's things were floating behind them.

"I'm so terribly sorry about this, Arthur. Unfortunately, it was out of my hands."

Mr. Weasley shook his head in sadness. He put a hand on his son's shoulders. "Why are they doing this, Albus?"

Albus sighed. "It believe they are making this situation look worse than it is. I'm pretty sure this is a ploy by the Slytherins to get a noble Gryffindor such as Mr. Weasley expelled and I'm sorry they succeed."

Mrs. Weasley dabbed her eyes. "How could such Deatheater scum get away with such a thing?"

"I do not know Molly. But will get to the bottom of this."

"I'm pretty sure Severus Snape had something to do with this. Maybe it's time for him to disappear if you know what I mean," Arthur smirked.

It would seem that Mr. Potter has become close to Professor Snape. It would be suspicious if something were to happen to him."

Mr. Weasley shook his head. "Very well, Albus. I'm sure we could get Ronald in Beauxbatons in a few weeks, yes?"

Albus didn't look hopeful. "I'm sorry, Arthur, but that is not how it works."

"Yes, but I'm sure a recommendation from you could sway them?" Arthur had a gleam in his eyes.

Albus took a deep breath, "I'll see what I can do."

As the group was out of sight, Harry stood out of the shadows, eyes blazing. Just how low could these Gryffindors go? Instead of turning back to the infirmary, Harry decided to go to Severus's quarters and find out where the Chamber of Secrets are. If he could find it, he could find Tom, and get rid of Dumbledore once and for all.

It's been a very busy two weeks, but I'm glad I was able to get this out. Unfortunately, I have been unable to edit and revise much, but I hopefully I'll be able to get in a few more chapters in the coming weeks.
