This Moment

Deidara surveyed the cave that had Sasori scattered all over it. He did not looked pleased as he searched over the broken puppets.

"Tch…" He flicked over the Sasori's current body, with his foot, his arms having been both blown off "You still alive, yeah?"

The remains of Sasori's body nodded shakily. Deidara kicked him for his troubles.

"Idiot…" Deidara looked quickly up " You were supposed to last forever beautifully if I recall, un."

"Deidara… I'm… I'm… sor… ry…" Sasori whispered barely audibly his lifeless eyes staring off into space and his lips barely moving.

"Shut up…" Deidara kicked him still looking up. Sniff

"Don…" Sasori's lip twitched up as he tried to say 'don't cry, you wimp… I hate cry babies.'

"Shut up… I'm not crying" Deidara turned down tears flowing down his face, quite clearly crying.

"Don..." Sasori mumbled as Deidara was going to kick him again.

Deidara fell to his knees instead and wailed for his dying friend. He leaned his head against Sasori's stomach as he quieted down.

"Do…" Sasori tried to say something about not getting tears on his art.

"I was supposed to die first… I was supposed to get my ass blown up first, un… I was going to be art first…" Deidara sat up looking down at Sasori.

"D…" Sasori started to fade out of life.

"I … Sasori I lived for you…" Deidara sniffed "What will I do now that you aren't there to keep me on time…" He chuckled " I don't have a watch… I don't have the wrist to keep it on…"

"…" Sasori's eyes looked up to Deidara fighting back to life and trying to save up his strength for on last burst.

Deidara looked down into Sasori's clear eyes…

" I hate it when you're late… You get Kakuzu to sow your arms back on and… get a"

" Give me my damn moment…" Deidara cried at Sasori " I'm trying to let you know how I feel about our friendship…"

Couldn't find the words for the feelings he held for his partner… his rival… his best friend…

"I love you…" Sasori let go of life just as he said " Don't die… don't become art…"

Deidara stopped crying looking down in horror at Sasori.

" You died didn't you, un?"

Deidara smiled.

"You still didn't understand…"

Tears started down his face over his smile

" Eternity is nice in concept but that last moment gives meaning and beauty to all that came before… and if everything's going to be destroyed anyway… it's to painful to last for too long… Because there is too much beauty it's painful to look at… to feel… That is art… one moment one explosion… That's right!" Deidara looked down at Sasori's smiling doubtful expression and grinned wider feeling no less pain but somehow better.
