Okay I said there was only going to be these three chapters left. However I will write an Epilogue with some long overdue juicy stuff ;) If ya know what I mean. Unfortunately I cant get into the right mood to write it. So this for now and if you are satisfied with this ending let me know! I'm very happy with how it ends right here.

Explain This to Me

Our disagreement lasted for what seemed like forever. Small allowances were made here and there until we were back to spending all of our time together again. I still felt like a heavy burden on the team. But at least Raven and I were talking again. I can even shift forms again. I almost feel like my old self...

Almost...

It was going to be a few hours before dinner, but the sun was already setting on the bay. The dark-haired girl studied the colors as they stretched across the sky. Sighing, she watched the waves lap at the rocky shore. It was hopeless; Beast Boy still had so much muscle damage that he couldn't keep up with the others despite his physical therapy.

His blindness had affected his ability to be coordinated. His other senses had sharpened to compensate, but it wasn't enough. He'd finally elected to 'hold the fort'. Raven sighed again; it was a deep painful sigh that reflected only a fraction of her inner turmoil. Mostly, she blamed herself for how he was now—even if he was the one who moved—she should've never tampered with such a powerful magic.

She had vowed to never use Biomorphicism again.

Closing her eyes, she tried to imagine herself blind. Warm sensations weaved their way around her waist, a soft breath tickled her neck, as a familiar presence filled her space, and nestled his head against hers, "I thought you were figuring out dinner."

He held her closer, "Eh, we've got time. Star's still reading some cookbooks."

Another painful sigh passed her lips, and her hands clasped over his. His ears flicked in response, her guilt washed over him, "Don't tell me you still blame yourself for this—for my blindness." She remained silent so he continued, "It's not your fault—It was Riona, and you know it."

"It's still not fair," she finally responded, "You shouldn't have to live this way."

"Being blind isn't so bad—I just wish I could see you again."

"What about a sunset? Or snow? Or—" her voice cracked.

He took one of her hands and gripped it tightly in his own, "I don't understand why you always torture yourself with the mistakes you make."

"I just wish—" she half-breathed and fell silent again. He was comforting her when it should be the other way around. Guilt washed over her again.

There was a slight growl in his voice as he turned her around to face him, "Raven! Stop wishing. We can't change this."

Fear and anger mixed around in his voice. He truly didn't blame her for this; he was only afraid that he would never be able to protect her again.

Her eyes watered, "You're right—wishing doesn't solve anything."

His clouded eyes looked troubled again, but he didn't reply. Letting go of her, he walked to the Tower railing and leaned on it with his sightless eyes staring out across the water.

"We should go back down stairs. You could fall close to the edge." she said.

He walked further away from her.

Raven crossed the distance and took one of his hands, "Are you coming now?"

"I will." He grumbled, "I can walk myself…"

She removed her hand, and clenched her fists, "Quit being so proud. If only you could see yourself, and how you've been acting lately—with a chip on your shoulder!"

Beast Boy snapped around to face her, "I'm not—" a splash of colors cascaded in front of his eyes, colors, lights, and shapes danced brightly through the darkness, "Rae, I—"

Shutting his eyes tightly, he soon found the sun cutting through the remaining darkness that had become his sight. Opening his eyes once more, blurry figures began to materialize in his visage until they finally melted into solid forms.

"I can see! I can see!" he exclaimed.

Stealing her hands, he pulled her into a haphazard dance, and jumped and spun around until he was so dizzy that they crashed backwards with her over him.

Raven stared into his clear green eyes intently, "So you can really see again?"

"Yes! Yes I can. But I'm not sure how." Confusion stealing his bliss.

"I know the chances are highly unlikely. The damage to your retina was so far beyond repair- I thought," she paused, "I guess you're just lucky." She smirked, leaning over to kiss his lips tenderly.

"You're damn right I'm lucky." he grinned, "I have the girl I love by my side."

Her eyes widened significantly. She hadn't uttered those words to him even once since that cold day in January, and here he was keeping that fiery hope alive deep in his heart. After all they'd been through-

She took his hand tightly, "You feel strong enough to fly?"

"Huh? I guess, maybe."

Without waiting for a clearer answer, she took him by the hand and ran to the far end of the Tower facing the city. She pivoted on her heel with him still stumbling to keep pace. She slowed for a moment and felt him catch pace with her.

"What are we doing?" he said.

"Jumping."

"Do you think-" he stared at her with his new, still slightly fuzzy vision as a bright smile adorned her face.

They neared the edge nearest the open ocean and braced themselves to jump. She turned to him, "I love you Beast Boy."

His heart soared in his chest, his eyes bright with excitement as they leapt off the Tower edge. They stared into each others eyes as they fell faster and faster. Her hand still gripped his, "I've always been jealous of that day."

His eyes widened again, and his head quirked to the side.

"The day you leapt from the Tower after we defeated my father."

He smiled softly; now remembering that day clearly.

"I never told you- but that was when I started to change. The day that I started to look at you differently."

A blush stained his cheeks, "That long huh?"

"Yeah, the day that you opened my heart to changing myself. To growing into a whole person." she closed her eyes, feeling the cool wind buffet against her face, "The day that I fell in love with you."

The pair sharply turned upward from their descent and skimmed the water with their arms. She smiled warmly at him and he grinned back at her. They landed on the special island together and watched the sun setting in the sky. It drifted below the skyline and stained the sky with bright oranges, peaches, pink, and a faint blue. Dark tendrils of purple crept into the fading twilight as it turned into night.

"I'm sorry I its taken me this long to say it."

"I've waited so long to hear those words." he breathed.

He pulled her close and kissed her lips. His arms wrapping around her midsection as the kiss intensified. His tongue curled around hers. Her hands flew to his face cupping it to keep him close.

He rested his forehead against hers, "I'm sorry for pushing you away...can you ever forgive an idiot like me?"

"I'm sure I can, Turtledove." she smiled as they held each other close in the rising moonlight.

And that is the story of how Raven fell in love with me.
