Disclaimer: Big surprise, I don't own High School Musical. If I did, Sharpay would so get her solo performance. Troy has one, Gabriella has one, so where's Sharpay's?
Lies
Everybody tells them at one point or another in their lives. Some tell is deliberately, some are forced to do so by circumstances. Some lies are meant to deceive people, some are meant to protect them from the truth.
Lies
He tells lies everyday. He doesn't know whether he does so deliberately or not, not that it matters. He doesn't know who he is trying to deceive, the world or himself, not that it matters. His lies aren't fooling anyone, not even himself. Not that he wants to. He doesn't want to forget, he doesn't want to be deceived. He wants her.
Lies
She knows that he lies. Of course she doesn't tell him that, she doesn't want him to leave. She suppose that makes her a liar, her not telling him that she knows he is lying, her playing along with him, pretending that everything is fine, her... No, she doesn't have time to think about that, doesn't want to think about that. Her life is complicated enough now, keeping up with his lies, pretending to be a loving couple in public. But underneath all the lies she knows that there is one truth that will never change. She loves him, he loves her.
Lies
Repetition does not transform a lie into a truth. No matter how many times he repeats his lies, they will never become facts. When he says those words, usually when avoiding her eyes and tumbling them out with no emotion, the words mashed together so they were almost unrecognisable. It only reminds her that she is not her, and those words were never meant for her, and that all this was just a lie.
"Lie to me"
"I love you"
Lies
P.s: The quote "Repetition does not transform a lie into a truth" was spoken by Franklin D.Roosevelt, 32nd president of US (1882 - 1945) in a radio address on October 26, 1939
