Crystal clear I see the rose is frail

Frail. Glass. Brittle. How easily I could make her bend and break. Snap my fingers, and she was there at hand and foot, waiting. There was nothing she wouldn't do for me. Slender. Flexible. Loyal. Oh, how she was wrapped around my finger, even as I pushed it to her lips.

The thorns hide easily in its beauty

Smooth. Soft. When I brushed my hands against her cheek, her skin seemed seamless. How foolish of me, I should have known the venom was in her smile. Hidden in her teeth, hidden until she lashed out, fighting for all she was worth.

As I go to grasp it in my hand

Twisting. Turning. Teasing. The thrill of her, static coursing to her finger tips as she worked to best me just once, but it would never happen. Fighting and biting and kissing until finally, finally, I overpowered her. I always overpowered her, and it was just so easy to remind her she was mine. I loved her, I loved her.

My heart is torn beating from my chest

"Even you would not be so foolish, Marluxia," Larxene spat, wiping away the blood on the cheek where the thorns had punctured her, the rose that had brushed her skin moments before laying wilted and forgotten to the side. And then, I pushed that same finger to her lips, signalling for silence.

"If only I had a heart."
