"J-Jazz, do you have to stare at me? It's hard to concentrate when I'm under pressure." Gulping with a light stutter, Perceptor tried to ignore the peering gaze. A light tint of red was already visible on his silver cheeks. He did not pay heed when Jazz had first walked into his lab. Not even when the Autobot hopped up onto the desk behind him, but he just feel those hidden optics watching him. He could only work on his project for so long before he felt like twitching under that silent gaze.
Taking deep breaths to keep his systems cool, Perceptor tried to get back to his work. His fingers working with experience, grabbing the tools for his project to get it done. Shoulders shrugging with a crack of the neck. He did not want to give Jazz notice that he was getting more and more nervous with every second that passed by.
While Jazz on the other hand was calm as could be. There was a thin smile on his face below his angular visor. He was not giving any hints to why he was there. For all Perceptor knew, the Autobot was simply there to watch him. Which was exactly what Jazz wanted.
The microscope was just so simply amusing. Bluestreak was cute when he would ramble on about nothing, but Jazz held other interests. He enjoyed sitting and listening to Perceptor go on about something. This Autobot at least had a purpose to his words. Albeit sometimes it was elaborate as explaining what a pizza was.
A small chuckle slipped past Jazz's lips when he recalled one of the more amusing encounters he had with Perceptor. All he did was just walk into the room when the scientist was going on about a new scientific study that just went right over Jazz's head. That was not much of the point as it was really cute how oblivious Perceptor was.
Only Jazz and Wheeljack were in the room at the time. Perceptor just kept on talking even when Wheeljack looked like he was going to fall asleep. As the scientist continued to speak, Jazz's lips twitched into a smile. It was that smile that caught Perceptor's optics. He stopped speaking in the middle of his sentence.
The sudden stop snapped Wheeljack awake. Blue ears blinking as he stuttered to apologize. His own words suddenly stopped when he saw how Perceptor was, in human terms, gawking. Curious, he turned around to see what had the scientist in a stare. Yet there was nothing but air.
Shrugging, Wheeljack turned back to Perceptor. Waving a hand in front of his face to snap him out of the daze.
Blushing out of embarrassment, Perceptor quickly regained his composure. Putting a faint smile on, he returned to his explanation. Not seeing Jazz peek back in nor walk away with a smile that would make the Cheshire Cat jealous.
Smiling in his past memories, Jazz did not notice that Perceptor had paused in his work. One set of fingers were wrapped around a welder. The end still glowing like a hot coal from it's recent use. His other onyx hand resting atop his project. Fingers drumming lightly from an old tune he knew. He paid it no heed.
