What makes us human? Is it the fact that we have feelings and care or is it the fact we feel and care in the strangest ways. The feelings that Emmett had for Elle were no different. He was human so of course when she would walk down the street it made most men swoon but Emmett also saw a woman on a mission. Her mission had nothing to do with him though. You see Elle wanted to win back her UCLA sweetheart, Warner Huntington the III. Well a blind man could see Emmett was no Warner.

Not being drop dead gorgeous was the only thing that Emmett didn't have but I don't mean he wasn't good looking because he was. Warner couldn't hold a candle to Emmett on anything else though because quite frankly Emmett was a much better person than Warner. And yet Elle Woods traveled god only knows how many miles to win back a jerk like Warner.

At the current moment Elle and Emmett had just won the Brooke Windom case and went out to celebrate. Emmett should have been happy but he wasn't because Warner had asked Elle something. Elle wouldn't tell Emmett what though. As the two people sat down Emmett was shaking because he had just lost the woman of his dreams to a guy like Warner just like high school. Elle finally broke the silence by saying, "I can't believe we won Emmett this is amazing!"

Emmett looked at her completely shocked," Your joking Elle all I did was supervise. You did the rest little miss woods coma Elle and don't let anyone tell you otherwise."

"Emmett I lucked out really I mean if was any other case where fashion or hair wasn't involved I would have lost."

"Your joking Elle why can't you just see that you're a good lawyer? You didn't need the hair care or the extra support you already won when you opened your first law book. Elle Woods you are amazing in every single way imaginable."

"Thanks Emmett but you have to say that you are my best friend."

"So what Elle even if I was your enemy you still would get the same response. Well maybe not the same but I would still tell you that your amazing in law and now I'm going to tell you that I love you…r way of yea." Emmett froze in what he had just said. He never meant to say the last part of that sentence. Emmett started up again by saying, "So how are you and Warner now that you and him are how do girls say… like totally an idem."

Elle laughed ever so slightly, "Emmett me and Warner aren't together. He asked me to marry him but I want to succeed and having a boy just isn't something I want at the moment. Unless it was a very special person yah now what I mean?"

Emmett looked very confused by her last comment. "Omigod Emmett! I am so tired of dropping hints around you when all you do is make a joke. I don't want to have a joke I want you Emmett."

Emmett looked at her and said, "How long?"

"Ever since shopping but you wouldn't care."

"How would you feel if I said ever since Chistmas?"

"For real?"

"I don't know what that means but yes, ever since Christmas."

"Good because you drive me nuts but in a really good way. In a couple of words you make me the happiest woman I know."

"Omigod." And with that he kissed her.
