12/29/07 Author's Note: This contains Jack/Norrington slash. Bold words are Jack's, plain are Norrington's. This was all written on my cell phone, (except for the parts that sound really good, those were written by my friendd, Sillamantle - "I of the land/and you of the sea" - the great title is also hers). I wrote this because my friends got kind of sick of my obsesive shipping of Norrington and Lizzie and challenged me to write this. Please reveiw.

2/13/08 Update: I've edited this a bit and have tried to make it more clear 'cos I know that I have not captured Jack's voice properly. And I'm not sure what is up with the weird formatting so I'm just leaving it like this.

Disclaimer: I don't own. If I did own this movie, a fourth one would be in the process of shooting now, but it isn't (yet) so obviously: It. Is. Not. Mine.

Taking on the World

You and me;

We can never be.

We would not be accepted as a couple,

People would not understand.

We clash like Davey Jones

And the sea goddess Calypso.
---

Me, a commodore of the English Royal Navy
And you, a notorious pirate lord.

I of the land

And you of the sea.

---

Our names are constantly put together
But never in that sense.
Commodore Norrington and Captain Sparrow.
Can we never once be just James and Jack?

---

Why must we be enemies?
Why can't we be acquaintances?
Or friends?
What about even being lovers?
---
But I am a man
And so are you
What would they say?
---
Luv, it don't matter.
---
What they think doesn't matter,
They are too caught up in details
To see that it is just love, savvy?
---
Love
Love
---
It is love
I love you and you love me.
---
Mate, it don't matter that
You've tried to kill me
And I, you.
That is in the past, savvy?
It's over now
And our love is all that remains.

---

If that of which does not kill us

Makes us stronger,
Then you and I are undefeatable.
Together, we can take on
The world.
