"Hey, come in!" Ruki waved Takato and Guilmon into her home. "Renamon's already in my room. Why don't you join her, Takato?"

"Sure thing, Ruki." Takato motioned for Guilmon to follow him, but Ruki quickly placed a hand on the Digimon's shoulder.

"Guilmon needs to stay!" She gave Takato her best attempt at an innocent grin. "I need him... to help me prepare something?"

"Okay," Takato finally replied after giving Ruki a puzzled look, "I'll get going..."

Sheesh, Ruki thought as she dragged Guilmon into the kitchen, I thought he'd never go.

"You're up to something," Guilmon suddenly remarked, making Ruki's blood freeze. "It isn't something bad, is it?"

"No, it's not bad. Just..." She gestured vaguely and cursed silently. She had expected Guilmon to be less observant. "Renamon likes Takato. A lot."

"...and?"

Ruki groaned. "No, I mean... love!" she finally blurted out. "She's in love with Takato, but she doesn't know if it's mutual! So I invited you two and told her to take the initiative by hitting on him!"

Guilmon cocked his head. "I don't think he'll like her much if she punches him," he finally mused, making Ruki giggle.

"No silly, hitting on somebody doesn't mean punching, it mea-" She froze. Oh dear God. Half a second later, she yanked open the kitchen door. "RENA-" But she knew that she was too late.

"RUKI, HELP!" Takato yelled, running across the lawn. "RENAMON'S GONE CRAZY!"

"Stop dodging, please!" Renamon pleaded as yet another punch narrowly missed his head. "You're making it hard for me to-" Ruki closed the door again and groaned.

"See, I told you-" Guilmon started.

"Oh, put a sock in it," Ruki muttered.

And there it was again. That clueless expression that should have tipped Ruki off when she had given Renamon dating advice.
