Title: Anti-Thesis
Fandom: Pirates of the Caribbean
Pairing: James Norrington/OC
A/N: I like James Norrongton, and I feel he got the shortest of the sticks as far as happy endings go (Liz and Will got each other, albeit every decade; Jack got the Pearl and his life back; Barbossa got the Pearl and his life back, etc...). So I wrote this up in an attempt to make James happy, except it turned out kind of angsty-desperation-not happiness at the end. Ah well.
Please review, since I can only get better with time, and I would like to know how.
James liked her because she was the opposite of Elizabeth.
She was small in frame and manner, had soft dark hair and eyes, and ducked her head and blushed when she smiled. She spent much of her time with friends and relatives, chatting over tea. She avoided confrontation. She often spoke of how terrible it was that so many men turned to piracy.
He was in love. He had to be.
Because if Elizabeth still held his heart, then everything would fall to pieces, and he had already promised a future to the woman standing with him at the altar.
