Saiou was residing in a secluded part of his room separated by red curtains. The only pieces of furniture were being in use; he was sitting on the chair and the table had two gray boxes perched on top of it. The walls were painted a vivid shade of white and there were splashes of lavender on the ceiling so it formed a circular pattern above his head. In front of him was a mirror whose reflection stared back at him ominously.
"The keys to the satellite of Misralz…" he murmured, gazing down at the duo boxes but not touching them. "…the keys to destruction of the world…"
"We shouldn't," his reflection said.
"We should," he insisted, his eyes flashing furiously. "Glory to the light."
"I said many times we should not fight destiny."
"Destiny is in our hands," he hissed to his mirror counterpart. "With these keys, we can flood light onto this besmirched world."
"With these keys we will bring destruction to the world. Massacring the lives of millions is no justification to fulfill even the noblest ambition," his reflection replied solemnly. "Stop this madness."
He threw his head back and roared in laughter. "Make me."
The insurgence in his reflection disappeared. Just then, voices came from outside his room. Saiou glanced at the direction of the commotion.
"…and if I ever see your filthy, grubby, dirty little hands on Tenjoin-kun again I'll rip your arms out of its sockets and suffocate you with them," snarled a voice dripping with loathing.
"We. Were. Talking!" countered an exasperated voice. "Don't you think you're being a little unreasonable?"
A cry of rage. "You were touching her and she was crying. I know how to add one plus one. It equals two, dropout boy, TWO!"
"No, Manjyome, you don't. Listen, I was just trying to cheer up..."
"Lies! I am sick and tired of hearing them from you!"
"Enough!" The two boys fell silent to her voice. There was an exasperated sigh from the female voice. "...you shouldn't have followed us here, Juudai." A contented grunt came next to her.
"Asuka..."
"Just leave, alright?" she muttered softly.
A pair of footsteps began to walk away and Saiou swore he heard a very soft whisper of 'sorry' after the footsteps.
"Wait." Unexpectedly, it was Manjyome's voice.
The footsteps ceased. Heavier footsteps made its way over to the departing figure.
"Juudai, I challenge you to a duel. I swore I would make you see the light and I plan to uphold that promise!"
"…I'll accept that challenge, Manjyome." His voice was different; it was remorseful. "But be wary that the outcome might not be what you anticipate it to be."
Apparently Manjyome found this amusing because he laughed; his laugh was cold and biting. "Get out," he sneered.
Asuka stayed silent until the third party had left. Then in a soft voice she spoke, "Are you sure you can win?"
"Saiou-sama recently presented me with a new deck. I'm almost unstoppable with it," Manjyome finally replied after a moment of silence. Silently, the two made their way back into the Obelisk White dorms. A pair of violet eyes watched them.
"Well, well, well. It seems that Juudai does have the ability to overcome destiny after all...the cards have predicted Manjyome-san's defeat."
The man known as 'Saiou' smirked.
