This is my second El Tigre fan fiction. My first was Unmasked, which I shall shamelessly plug in here. Read it sometime!
Anyways, this was a FUN fic to write, which is good seeing how after Eye Caramba it was begging to be written. It was also begging to be written because there are no pairing fics besides FridaManny ones as far as I know. No offense meant to FridaManny writers. Heck. I'm probably gonna write MxF next. I just wanted to do something unique. FIGHT THE POWER! (shot)
I hope you enjoy read this as much as I have enjoyed writing it. :)
Disclaimer: I don't own El Tigre or any of the characters from it. Nickelodeon does. I just wrote this fic.
Phone Call
By Netbug009
A member of the Flock of Fury is one of the wittiest villains in Miracle City. They are as agile in the mind as they are on their feet. It took something spectacularly confusing to make one of them be so confused as to pace around their room thinking about the situation.
Today, he was that something.
"I will not call him! Never!" Zoe told herself. "He is a stupid do-gooder... and he should have called me to begin with anyway." She continued to walk back and forth in her quarters, cell phone in hand. She looked at the device again. Her right index finger slowly moved its way towards the keypad, hand shaking. She stopped herself and crossed her arms. "No! I will not call him! I will not call him! I will not!"
A few seconds later, the Rivera's home phone ringed.
"Manny!" Grandpapi shouted through the household. "Could you get that?"
"Coming!" Manny rushed into the living room and did the favor he had been asked to do. "Hello?"
"Uh... is this Manny?"
Manny raised an eyebrow at the voice. "...Is this Black Cuervo!?"
"No!" Zoe laughed nervously. "Who is this er, Blue Curvy you said? This is Zoe from school."
"Wait wait wait, Zoe Aves?"
"Yes."
"Okay... Why are you calling me?"
"Um, well... I was wondering if maybe sometime... uh..."
She was starting to hope she'd get interrupted and not have to finish her question. Unfortunately, Manny was listening patiently on the other end of the line.
"Uh..."
Finally, a voice came from the other end. "...Are you okay?"
"Who, me?" Zoe laughed again, but this time even more nervously than before. "I'm fine! Totally fine! Why do you ask?"
"Well, you just seem kind of... nervous."
Zoe's voice became frantic and she spoke so fast it was almost hard to comprehend. "Nervous? I'm not nervous! Why would I be nervous about calling you? It's not like I care what you think of me. You never called me back anyways. What, do you think I'm calling to ask you out? That's silly. You flatter yourself too much. Why didn't you ask me out anyway? Why do I have to ask you out? Well guess what? I'm not, so there. I hate you! Goodbye!" Zoe mashed her finger onto the end call button and practically slammed her cell phone onto her desk, leaving Manny confused as could be on the other end. Zoe took many deep breaths, trying to pull herself together. She soon collapsed into a purple beanbag.
"Zoe! Time for dinner! If you eat all your peas, I'll let you stay up late to go rob the bank with your grandmother and I!" Zoe's mother pocked her head into her daughter's room. "Are you alright Miha? You look tired."
"I'm fine." Zoe said, looking away from her mother and crossing her arms. "I will come in a few minutes."
"Alright, but hurry or it will get cold." With that, her mother went to eat.
After a moment, Zoe's gaze turned to the phone on her desk. She stood up and turned away from it, arms still crossed. As she walked towards the door, she scoffed. "He should have called me to begin with anyway."
