Set in the same storyline as my fic A Mother's Son, this oneshot is a snippet of Naruto and Sasuke. Enjoy. Review! And the next chapter of A Mother's Son will be up soon.

Naruto sat in the chill of the forest, smoke blowing from his mouth, cigarette dangling from his fingers. He only ever smoked when he was nervous, upset, or both. He could go through a pack in under an hour. He took one last drag, before pinching the end and flicking it away. He heard the voices of his team members and stood, slinking back farther into the shadows. He leaned against the tree, watching the scene before him.

"Oh Sasuke, that was so much fun." Sakura gushed, standing up on her tiptoes to kiss the taller teen. Sasuke allowed himself a small smile and returned the kiss. Sakura's arms wound around Sasuke's neck, and his hands found their way to her hips. Naruto nearly gagged. It was sickening for him to watch. His fingers tapped along the carton he held in his hands. They remained like this for a long minute before, to Naruto's relief, they came up for air.

"You should get home." Sasuke said, his smooth voice rumbling through the still night air. Sakura pouted, but agreed. She pulled away reluctantly, not wanting any of her body to stop touching Sasuke.

"I'll see you tomorrow," she promised before pulling completely away and walking off quickly. Naruto watched her go, as did Sasuke. When her retreating back was no longer visible, Sasuke turned, and glared into the forest. Caught, Naruto laughed sharply before stepping out into the moonlight.

"Spying, Naruto?" Sasuke asked, his eyebrow arching. Naruto laughed again, bitterly. He desperately wanted to Rasengan Sasuke's ass, but he held himself back.

"So, you and Sakura, eh?" he said, drawing another cigarette from his pack. Sasuke frowned at this, but said nothing. He looked away for a moment, in the direction Sakura had gone, before looking back at his blonde teammate.

"Yea."

"How long?"

"Few weeks."

"You lying?"

"Yea."

Naruto gave a frustrated growl, and before he could stop himself, he stalked up to Sasuke and sent a fist flying into his jaw. The satisfying thud accompanied his hit, and the pain in his hand was worth it. His friend stumbled back, hand going to the bruise forming on his cheek. Naruto grabbed the taller man's shirt, shaking him. "You know how I feel about her!" he cried, anger and hurt leaking through his voice.

"I'm sorry."

Naruto pushed Sasuke away, hands shaking. He took a drag of his forgotten cigarette. He took a deep breath. "Yea, I bet you are." He said sarcastically. Sasuke sighed. He had known Naruto would make a scene. He was just thankful that he had waited until Sakura was gone.

"I know how you feel, but I feel the same way." Sasuke sounded a bit earnest, and Naruto had to keep himself from hitting him again. It was such bullshit.

Naruto snorted in disbelief. He shook his head slowly. "Sasuke …You don't deserve her."

"I know."

"You don't get to keep this a secret. Tell Kakashi, tomorrow."

Sasuke nodded. He could see the pain that Naruto was trying to hide. He knew was much more hurt than he let on. "Naruto…I know I'm an ass. But I love her. I really do."

"Not like I do."

"But I do. I love her with everything I am. I'd give up my world for Sakura." Sasuke said. He wanted his friend to be okay with his relationship. Naruto was his best friend; he didn't want to fight with him.

"What about revenge?" Naruto asked softly, his blue eyes flicking over Sasuke's face. Sasuke frowned. He knew he didn't need to answer. Naruto knew what he would say.

When Sasuke stayed silent, Naruto laughed. "I knew it. Not like I do."
