Maddie saw the ecto blast come towards her.

She closed her eyes and waited for what seemed like hours.

Then she saw the flash of it making contact.

Her eyes snapped open in shock at the lack of pain.

In front of her was Vlad Masters, weakly leaning against a wall and Phantom.

Phantom fell to his knees in pain.

Maddie's eyes widened, Phantom had taken the fatal shot for her!

Her gaze slowly wandered over to her old college friend.

Both were fading fast!

Phantom shook with every breath and Maddie grabbed her first aid kit.

She stopped.

Her gaze drifted between the two of them and she looked up and saw the Wisconsin ghost staring in shock at the scene.

Maddie quickly charged her weapon and launched a cheap shot at him.

He flew into the wall.

Maddie fought between instincts on who to help, her savior or her friend.

Then on the opposite wall where the Wisconsin ghost had fallen he turned into her old friend.

She gasped and allowed her gaze to wander between the two.

Suddenly she ran over to Phantom and began quickly wrapping up his wound as best she could.

She limped over to the speeder and took one last look behind her as her old friend drew his last breath.

The copy slowly faded away and her friend moved no more.

Maddie carefully carried Phantom's weakend form into the speeder.

She floored it into the ghost zone.

As soon as she reached the lab she placed Phantom's weakend form onto a lab table.

She went to the side and grabbed Jack's worst invention.

She took the needle and injected it into Phantom.

After a few moments Phantom seemed to grow weaker and became limp.

Two rings formed around his waist and replaced his collapsed form with her son.

A tear fell from Maddie's eye as she felt for a pulse.

She couldn't feel a thing and she sat down and stroked her sons hair.

After a few moments she gasped as her son began breathing shakily.

She quickly felt for the pulse and felt it growing stronger.

Danny's eyes slowly opened "mom" he whispered.

Maddie happily put down the needle and thanked Jack for never managing to fix that blasted ecto dejecto.
