"Why are you doing this?" she asked.

Shion only grinned. She was wearing her old bloody kimono and clutching a kitchen knife in her hand. She didn't respond, just continued to stand there and clutch the bloody knife while watching Rika.

"Why?" Rika asked again. "You won't accomplish anything."

"Because," said Shion, in a voice hinting at maniacal laughter. "If I kill them all with my bare hands, Satoshi's death will be avenged. And you know all about that, don't you Rika?" Shion held the knife closer to her face and examined it idly.

Rika shuddered. This was not Sonazaki Shion. This was a demon. This girl had killed Rena.

The shadows in the hallway made Shion's bloody form stand out more. The Sonazaki sister smiled at Rika, not a pleasant sight. Her bloody hands cradled the knife carefully, and in a sick way, it reminded Rika of a Mother with her small child. The younger girl shuddered. This devil couldn't be Shion.

"Rika," said Shion slowly, relishing the word. "The shrine maiden worshipped as the living reincarnation of Oyashiro-sama. How nice that must be. You decide who lives and who dies. You can have whatever you want. Except you forgot something. You killed Satoshi-kun, ne? Clever work. However, next time you'll want to kill the girl who loved him as well. After all, I will live for revenge in the name of Satoshi-kun."

Rika gulped. "It doesn't matter if you do this," she said, voice shaking. "It doesn't matter."

"Of course not. Tomorrow we'll all wake up and live happily until misfortune lights our way again," said Shion. Noticing Rika's surprised face, Shion laughed. "It's the end of the month, Furude-san. I can get away with murder now, hmm? Why not? What's to stop me? More importantly... WHO is to stop me?"

Rika began to tremble. How did Shion know?

"Then there's no point, right?" asked Rika shakily. She didn't want to die. Not again.

"Oh, Rika," said Shion with a merciful smile. "Of course there's a point. This won't be the last time you die by my hand."

With that, she nimbly jumped forwards and flung her blade toward's Rika's neck. However, she stopped about a foot away.

"Oh, and Rika?" said Shion. "See you tomorrow!"

The police never got the chance to solve the case of the mysterious death of Rika Furude, nor the murder of Shion Sonazaki three days before.
