This is dedicated to Debs(aka Beeria) for her birthday which was last Monday. Sorry it's late but I've made up for it by writing another one that will be out tomorrow(hopefully!) xD

Alarm Clock

She groaned softly, squeezing her eyes shut tighter as warm lips swept over her neck. She snuggled into the pillow, muttering something incoherent before sighing softly. The lips curled slightly into a smile before moving up to her jaw, tracing a line up to her earlobe.

"Aeris?"

She groaned again, attempting to shut out her lover's voice so she could drift back into sleep. She heard a light chuckle behind her before a hand gripped her waist, pulling her back against a strong chest.

"Cloud," she moaned, finally opening her eyes a small crack. "Let me sleep!"

"You have to get up," he whispered back, his lips returning to her neck to caress the skin there. This was the habit that was repeated every morning. He would wake up first and then he would wake her in return.

"Five more minutes," she sighed once she had caught sight of the time.

"No."

"Two more minutes?"

"No."

"Jerk," she muttered.

"I love you too honey," he responded, expertly dodging the hand that made its way towards him. He smirked slightly and snuggled back against her. "I'll make you breakfast if you get up," he whispered. Her eyes opened a crack and she turned her head to squint up at him.

"What kind of breakfast?" she asked. Cloud put on a face of mock thought.

"Hmm, well I was thinking…pancakes?" he said.

"I'm awake!" she announced instantly, sitting up to prove her point.

"About time," he responded cheekily. She stuck her tongue out. With an amused expression, Cloud stood up and made his way downstairs to make breakfast. As soon as the bedroom door closed, Aerith released a long yawn and slide down onto her back again. She just felt herself drifting back into the world of sleep before she heard the door open. The next thing she knew, someone was lifting her and the covers off the bed.

"Don't even think about it," Cloud warned playfully, carrying her out of the room and downstairs into the kitchen. Aerith struggled and muttered something that Cloud couldn't hear because her voice was muffled from the blankets. But he could see her eyes were open, and were sparkling mischievously.

He wordlessly sat her on the table, kissed her temple, and then set about making breakfast. As he reached into the fridge to get the milk, he didn't see Aerith's smirk. Little did he know that Aerith deliberately set about staying in bed, just so he could give her those sweet little kisses and snuggles.

Of course, like everyone else, the fact of being awoken prematurely annoyed Aerith but unlike other people, who grew irritated with the constant beeping of their clocks, Cloud was her alarm clock that she could stay in bed with all day.
