"Sesshomaru-sama?" Rin called to the Daiyoukai who walked ahead of her.

He nodded slightly in recondition.

"Sesshomaru-sama where are we going?" Rin asked in a sing-song voice

"Home." Came his standard one word answer.

"Where is Home Sesshomaru-sama?" Rin asked, skipping along at Sesshomaru's side.

"In the West." Usually so many questions would annoy him but with Naraku dead by his own claws, Jaken off ahead to the castle to announce Sesshomaru's homecoming and the nice weather Sesshomaru's mood was fair. Rin's questioning voice seemed perfectly in place, like the sound of the rushing stream beside them or the birds singing in the skies.

"Does Sesshomaru-sama live in a cave?" Rin asked politely.

Sesshomaru stopped in his tracks taking a deep breath to suppress the urge he had to laugh, Daiyoukai do NOT laugh.

"No Rin my home is not a cave." He answered as he started to walk again.

"I'm sorry Sesshomaru-sama if I offended you, but most of the demons I've seen lived in caves so I thought maybe you did too."

"I live in a castle." Sesshomaru supplied he could hear her gasp in surprise and awe. He wasn't even looking toward her but he could feel her eye's growing wide.

"Are you a king Sesshomaru-sama?" Rin asked him. Sesshomaru thought about how long it would take him to explain exactly what his position in the Demon Court was to a seven year old human pup…he decided against this idea.

"Yes, Rin in a sense I am king over the Western Territory." Sesshomaru answered

"Amazing!" Rin exclaimed a bit of bounce seemed to get added to her skip.

"IF your like the King then what is master Inuyasha? Is he like 2nd king?" Rin wondered aloud.

"No, Rin Inuyasha has no place in The Court." Sesshomaru answered wondering where Rin got the idea of 2nd king if anything he'd be a prince never King.

"Oh, what about your Mommy and Daddy are they at your castle?" Rin asked. Usually Sesshomaru avoided questions about his deceased parents, but like all of Rin's innocent questions it didn't disturb him as much as it usually did.

"No. Rin there gone." He answered softly

"Well where did they go?" Rin asked not understanding what he meant.

"Heaven."

"Oh, I'm sorry Sesshomaru-sama." Rin said sadly as she stopped skipping.

"No, no anything but that. Rin you cannot cry. I don't know what I'll do if you do." Sesshomaru thought to himself as he smelt the faint beginnings of tears in the back of Rin's eyes. He picked her up and placed her over his head so that she was sitting on his shoulders.

"Rin, Promise me you won't cry. Promise me you'll not cry." Sesshomaru said to her, begging her.

"I won't cry Sesshomaru-sama, but my parents went to heaven too and my brothers and sister. It made me sad when they left and I don't want Sesshomaru-sama to cry like I cried then."

"It's alright Rin demons don't cry." Sesshomaru lied to her.

"Then I won't either" Rin promised.

"Sesshomaru-sama I have one last question."

"Yes, Rin?"

"If you're like the King, what does that make me?" Rin asked

"My Princess."
