Prologue

It could be said the mountain was one of the most dangerous places to be. Its high cliffs and sheer drops killed many that didn't know the terrain. That was if you were lucky. The unlucky were those that got stuck in the forest. There were predators so big that could swallow a man whole or cleave them half with a swipe of a claw. Yet, they never ventured near the city. For one there were predators that, despite their smaller size, tended to live just outside of it and would be thought as mad if they weren't so good at taking down a Tyrannosaurus with a punch. Only the stupid or had a death wish would go that side mountain.

One of these said predators had been watching her prey as it chewed on the harsh vegetation of the undergrowth. The deer had no idea what had been watching it, nor the rest of herd could feel the presence of something deadly. The dark eyes of the predator narrowed in a calculative moment. She slinked to left without a sound and moved forward silently, keeping within the shadows. Her fingers wiggled a bit in anticipation, itching to get a hold of her chosen deer. She had been waiting all afternoon for this moment. It had been toll in keeping a stomach from growling in hunger with some of the sickly tasting herbs that dampened hunger and water in the cups of leaves from last night's rain. Sometimes she could go without food for days but today she couldn't afford that luxury, not when the deer were so near.

There was shift in the air and she stilled immediately, every muscle tensed to spring. Then relaxed a tad bit when she realised it wasn't the wind, that would have led to disaster for the hunt if it had been, but something else. The predator paused for a moment, yes she was hungry, but her intuition told her something was there too. Closing her eyes momentarily and sensed it out. Yes, it was there but it was…

The deer head shot up, eyes and ears on full alert as the rest it's heard followed the suit just when the predator's eyes opened again to notice the change. The predator scowled in annoyance, this was going to take longer than she thought. She would have to either get much closer now or wait for the herd to relax again. Herd animals were always so skittish, that was why she preferred hunting the large predators. They thought they were king of the forest until they met her.

But any chance of catching the deer was soon diminished as a rumble was heard in the air. She didn't have the time to get out of the way, let alone turn around to see what it was that was coming. The predator shrieked as someone on some kind of machine collided into her back. The chance for dinner was ruined as the herd dashed off with the sound of many thundering hooves and fright. The predator got up quickly but the herd were long gone leaving nothing but tracks.

The predator growled. She was hungry and now she was pissed.

"Oh Kami are you alright?"

The predator turned to the idiot that hit her. The idiot happened to be a girl around her age wearing clothes from the city, slender and beautiful with turquoise eyes and hair. The predator blinked, who had blue hair these days?

"No, I've lost my dinner" the predator said.

"I'm so sorry, how can I make it up to you" she asked.

"You have to make it up to my family, it was my job to hunt" the predator growled.

"Oh, I'm so sorry" she said and then paused "Wait, how can you still be standing? I was going at…" she looked at the broken speed monitor and shrugged then looked at the other girl "well I going really fast"

"Something I happen to be born with from my tribe" the predator said.

The girl's face suddenly lit up happily and took a step towards the raven haired girl.

"Are you Amazonian?" she asked, while she took a good look at the clothes the predator was wearing.

They didn't look like the traditional way clothes were made, they seemed to made of leather and animal fur that was either wrapped over with strips of leather or sewn together. That being said the girl looked like to be wearing thick leather knee length boots, arm braces, a short skirt that looked a bit like a loincloth, bikini like leather top and a fur wrap over her shoulders. Over that was her bow, on her thigh was quiver and on the other thigh was a bag of some sort.

"Depends on who are you" the predator said with caution.

"My name is Bulma Briefs"

"And why were you in such a rush Bulma?"

"I was running away"

The predator frowned, concerned. She looked towards at the direction where Bulma had appeared from and opened her senses to see if anyone was coming. She turned back to Bulma when she assessed that no one was pursuing her.

"From whom?"

Bulma, who looked so confident to this point, glanced down at her feet sadly as if they were the most interesting things in the world.

"It's a long story" Bulma said in a small voice.

The predator wanted to sigh in sympathy but held herself still. She was taught never to believe everything the city dwellers may say, always to question and then question their intention. But by the sound of the girl's voice it wasn't going to be a very nice story. She looked at the girl's torn clothes, most likely by the bramble and thorns, and they told her this was someone from higher society. Green thread embroidered the slightly dirty white trousers, green ballerina shoes, a blue crop top and dark denim jacket. A blue helmet and a navy blue rucksack with a giant red B on the front. But the excessive diamond jewellery, makeup and French manicured nails said it all, she was from the upper class in the city.

The predator gave one last look at the deer track and quietly calculated how long it would take her to catch her dinner. Then the thought of the prospect of another day without food when she came to her inevitable conclusion annoyed her and she swiftly turned to walk towards the mountains, her home.

"Hurry up, it's a long way to get to my fellow amazons" the predator said.

Bulma's head shot up to her direction.

"You're taking me to your tribe?" Bulma asked.

"Yes" the predator said, without looking in her direction.

Bulma looked at her ruined green moped one last time and quickly followed the amazon, thinking better than to ask her to carry it there.

"Really?" Bulma asked.

The amazon stopped and looked at her with a certain irritation towards her.

"Yes, really, but if you try anything funny I will—"

"Don't worry I promise" Bulma said quickly and gave her hand out.

The amazon looked at it before looking at Bulma again. There was in her blue eyes told her that she could trust this lady. In an Amazonian fashion instead of taking Bulma's hand she took the wrist gently instead. Bulma in turned, though surprised at the simple sign of trust, gripped her wrist as well before they both let go. They both carried on walking to the mountains, well, Bulma was following the amazon to the mountains. The amazon looked at Bulma, smiling for the first time that they've met.

"My name is Chichi and I wasn't joking on it being a long trek, so you better tell me all about this problem you've been having."
