Kazahaya stood up, brushed himself off, and ran to get behind the counter when the bells jingled. He left Rikuo to finish stocking up – It wasn't like that idiot liked people, anyhow.
He recognized the boy at the counter, but not the person who was with him. "You're Watanuki, right?" the blonde boy smiled. "What're you here for? Another hangover cure?"
Watanuki nodded. "Yeah, Yuuko's driving me crazy…"
"Ah, we just got some new stuff in. I can show you," Kazahaya was glad to have a chance to walk around, and Watanuki was good company. "Ah! It's nice to meet you," he said, noticing the tall boy was still there. "Are you a friend of Watanuki's?"
"This jerk is Doumeki," Watanuki interrupted. "You're not going to get a proper answer out of him, all he ever does is grunt and make unreasonable demands on other's time."
Kazahaya laughed nervously. "Well, it's good to meet you. Come this way…"
Doumeki didn't follow them, instead looking around at the many things in the drug store. He was slightly startled by the large teen who was crouched on the floor, stocking the shelves, but didn't show it. The boy looked up. "Hey."
"Hey."
"I'm Rikuo."
"Doumeki."
"Friend of Watanuki?"
"Yeah. Friend of Kazahaya?"
"Yeah."
There was a brief silence as they both watched the two other boys looking at hangover cures. Watanuki got excited, and waved his arms around. Kazahaya seemed to respond in kind.
Rikuo broke the silence. "Do you think they know, and they're just messing with us, or are they really that oblivious?"
Doumeki shrugged. "With him? Could be either."
"Good luck with him, then."
"Mmm. Good luck with yours."
Kazahaya snuck a look behind him, and nudged Watanuki, giggling softly. "He's looking at you."
He blushed behind his glasses. "Really?"
"Yeah, would I lie?"
Watanuki looked, too, then turned around quickly, pretending he hadn't been. "Rikuo's doing it too," he whispered. "I don't think he's taken his eyes off your ass since you came over here."
They exchanged a tiny high-five, out of sight of the larger boys.
"I wonder if they know we're messing with them?"
"Probably not. If they did, Rikuo's big enough to kick my ass."
"Yeah, same here."
"It's fun though, you know? Like puppies, or something. I mean, I swear he waits for me to get in trouble so he can save me."
They laughed again. "Well, I gotta go. Yuuko gets really pissed when she's hungover. " Watanuki said apologetically. "See you!"
"Yeah, good luck!"
"Doumeki! Hurry up! We're leaving!" came the yell from the register. "I don't have all day, Yuuko will kill me if we don't hurry!"
Doumeki waved a casual good-bye to his new friend, and followed Watanuki out.
Kazahaya went back to stocking the shelves. "Hey, Rikuo, can you stock this for me? I can't reach the shelf."
Rikuo put a hand on the top of his head. "Shorty."
"You're a bastard. It's not my fault I can't reach!"
"Hah. "
But he put it on the shelf. Kazahaya smirked, out of sight.
