Author's Note: Didn't intend to write this one, it just popped up in abotu ten minutes on OpenOffice - not used to poetry like this, but I quite like it. It's less 'purple' than my prevoius one, to say the least, and the rhyming is a little more subtle. Hope you enjoy :)
-I-
One Day
One day you will be here.
Noise will distil and you will bring silence,
A quiet calm to an angry day.
I have to watch the world go by without you.
Stars implode. I feel nothing.
One day you will be here.
I will live, breathe, see – stop this pretence;
We'll run through years, months, weeks and days,
Touched in time before we bid adieu.
Before your time. I will not cry.
One day you will be here.
We can touch the stars with savoured suspense,
Disappear – unseen – between the fray.
They'll call us, but we'll be too far through.
Clouds align. Too numb for the rain.
One day you will be here.
I will see your smile as trembling defence,
Aid you as you led me, astray.
There is nothing done I can't undo
But you. The universe will feed.
One day you will be here.
Whispers through shadows form mindless sense,
A message for me you try to say:
There are some things in this world better with two.
Life goes on. I travel alone.
One day you will be here.
We will heal, and laugh, and love in perfect tense;
Nothing can stop this disarray.
Time blends to your absence, a silent thank you.
She thanks you. The ghost of a smile.
One day you will be here.
I will feel you, warmth and heat commence,
Smiles growing in passions of grey.
I have to live our life open, perhaps anew.
A gateway. I will find you.
One day...
