-Flowers-

The raven haired boy lit a stick of incense, bowing his head respectfully in a silent prayer for the person buried in the newly washed grave. The freshly planted flowers danced in the soft breeze as he slowly opened his dark eyes.

"Can I join you?" asked a voice from behind him.

Sasuke looked over his shoulder and was met with a mop of blonde hair and bright blue eyes. He nodded his head before turning to face the grave again.

Naruto walked over to the older boy and plopped down, unceremoniously, on to the ground next to him. The two boys sat there, watching the flowers blow around in the gentle wind, when it suddenly occurred to the Uchiha, "Shouldn't you be at you mom's grave?" he wondered out loud, not thinking about what he said before the words had already left his pale lips.

The blonde smiled softly, his eyes glazed over, as if his mind was elsewhere, "I never knew who my mom was."

Sasuke's eyes widened in surprise, "I…I'm sorry."

"Naruto turned to look at him, that sad, soft smile still on his lips, "It's okay, I don't miss her. Can't miss someone you never knew!"

The raven haired boy shifted his gaze uncomfortably, taking interest in the soft grass beneath them. The younger boy rested his head on his shoulder and poked him in the cheek. "Oi, if it's okay, can I spend Mothers Day with you and your mom?"

Sasuke rested his head on the blonde's, "Sure, I'd like that." after a moment's pause he added, "I think mom would like that, too."
