Author's Note: This is my attempt to characterize a character whom nothing is known about. This was also my English writing assignment; the teacher asked us to choose a character from one of the few anime she cared about (Pokemon, Digimon 03, Sailor Moon, or Yu-Gi-Oh). I was given an F due to the character not being a main one.

They see him every day.
Whispers abound. Is he descended from the legendary Ash? Why does he look so much like him? Where did he come from? He has Ash's face and Ash's old hat, but could it just be coincidence? What is his name? They debate and make up stories and ultimately are left with no conclusion. They know nothing of him.
Still, they question him.
Where did he get his Pokemon?
He has all Pokemon known to Johto and KAnto, and they are all at even levels. Even, sky-high levels obtained with no effort and no apparent bond formed between the Pokemon and Trainer. Where does he even train? They see him battle but he never fights outside the Stadium. He never seems to work his Pokemon very hard. Even if he trained in Mount Silver, his Pokemon should not be so tough! No one had that kind of power!
Who is he, that has such skills? What is his name?
Who is he?
He has no family. No one cheers for him at any battle. No one praises him for his many wins or comforts him in his occasional defeats. Even his Pokemon are not attached to him, probably because he has so many. He is alone, utterly so, but never speaks of it. He could have come from the next island over or the other side of the world, and no one would know. His family name is never given.
He does not speak.
He will listen intensely to those whom he defeats and to Earl at the Academy. But he will not reply, even when his council is needed. Instead he smirks, that all knowing, ever lasting smirk of his, and continues on his way. Even if his name is asked for competition's sake, he only holds up an entry card and moves on. He will not help anyone, but he does not hurt them. He is silent as a ghost beneath that ancient hat and whether or not he can speak is a debate among the people of Stadium Island.
He is unfeeling.
Those who try to befriend him are met with silence. He will usually acknowledge their presence with a bow of the head, but he will not return their kindness. Neither does he reject it. He simply is unmoved by words, gestures, even feelings. He is unable to feel, unable to care. Even in defeat he does not seem to be affected. Nothing can unnerve him, for he is hard as stone. Nothing can cause him to lash out, for he is numb as ice. And no one can help him when he feels broken, because no one but the most sensitive of Psychic Pokemon can tell when he feels anything.
He is the enigma of Pokemon Stadium.
He has no name.
