A/N: Okay saw "the road not taken" it inspired this double drabble it was posted already on as the stargate turns group on Yahoo when it aired the in the UK. I am warning you all now it has spoilers in it so if you haven't seen the ep yet don't read.
This is my explaination as to why Jack wasn't mentioned.
Oh and a bit of advice if you haven't seen the episode don't be drinking anything when you read Maggie warned me and well I'm glad I listened to her and so is my computer.

"I married McKay."
"You did what?"
"I mean she married McKay he's a multi-millionaire not a scientist and still the same arrogant ass."
"And, still she married him?"
"Yeah but then she divorced him."
"Smart girl knew she was a genius like you."
"You never joined the SGC there."
He raised an eyebrow.
She pulled away finding it hard to speak.
"You didn't join because you…"
She choked up.
He turned her around.
"I what?"
"You couldn't bear that your gun took your son away so you followed through with killing yourself."
She sobbed and he pulled her towards him.
"Sam, I understand the emptiness he felt. It was a dark time for me I hated myself no one could have saved me. Sara tried but I knew she placed some of the blame on me and I'm finally forgiving myself. He didn't get a second chance as I did. He missed out on meeting the best thing that could have happen to him, he missed out on meeting you and having you save him from the darkness that engulfed him."
"Wrong you saved me. You showed me that with hope there's always a chance."
