Weight of the World

Disclaimer:: Song lyrics nor Warriors belongs to me Dx

Feels like the weight of the world,
Like God in heaven gave me a turn.
Don't cling to me, I swear I can't fix you.
Still in the dark, can you fix me?

Brambleclaw faced his father, his head held high defiantly. "Father, believe me. I do want to follow in your footsteps." He blinked, urging for Tigerstar to trust him. "Squirrelfight has left me for Ashfire . . . I have nothing else going for me – except you."

Freefall, freefall, all through life.

Tigerstar gazed coolly at his son, unblinkingly. "And why should I believe you?" He snarled. "You admit to loving that fool's daughter!" His tail lashed as he hissed the word 'fool'; his hatred for Firestar was as strong as ever.

If you love me, then let go of me.
I won't be held down by who I used to be.
She's nothing to me.

"Yes, Father, I do. But that was the past; just as your defeat is." Brambleclaw pointed out, a smirk dancing upon his face, if only briefly. As Tigerstar stepped forward maliciously, Brambleclaw dipped his head. "It is the past, as I've said. Tigerstar, if you truly are the Father I hope you are, you will believe me. Your son. I care not for Squirrelflight . . . Not anymore." Brambleclaw fell silent, his words still ringing in the air before a swift breeze stole them. All was still though his heart pounded in his throat. It was so loud, Brambleclaw thought, Tigerstar was sure to notice!

Feels like the weight of the world,
Like all my screaming has gone unheard.
And oh, I know you don't believe in me.
Safe in the dark, how can you see?

Tigerstar narrowed his eyes, but they gleamed as bright as ever. It was as if he could read his son's mind. Finally, he lifted his muzzle to the starless sky, hanging like a suffocating blanket over the dead forest. It was so quiet, the night seemingly peaceful, but if you listened carefully you could hear snarls and grumbles, a sign that other banished warriors lived among the dark trees. A single whisper escaped Tigerstar's maw, lingering for just a second before it was lost among the other night-time sounds.

"No."

Suddenly the dark tom leapt at his look-alike. Claws glistened in the darkness, and pained yowls were heard. Brambleclaw pulled away, his flanks heaving, blood staining his tabby pelt. He let out a wordless hiss, and shook his head disappointed. Next moment, Brambleclaw had snapped around and raced off into the darkness.

Freefall, freefall, all through life.

If you love me, then let go of me.
I won't be held down by who I used to be.

If you love me, then let go of me
I won't be held down by who I was

If you love me, then let go of me
I won't be held down by who I used to be

The dark tabby padded into camp, his pelt ruffled. Above him, the sun shone into the gorge cheerfully, though Brambleclaw didn't notice. The massive tom closed his eyes, and let his paws carry him to the fresh-kill pile. Suddenly, he crashed into a lithe she-cat and fell over backwards.

Brambleclaw's amber eyes shot open and he saw a dark ginger she-cat sprawled on the ground just tail-lengths away. Both ThunderClan cats rose to their paws, and the she-cat blinked politely.

"Brambleclaw! How're you?" She smiled, her green eyes dancing with joy. Brambleclaw rose to his paws, and twitched his whiskers. "Fine, no thanks to you." Brambleclaw spoke in any icy tone, his amber eyes dark. He stared coldly at Squirrelflight for a moment before padding forward, shoving past Squirrelflight.
