We all know that the sea is full of unsolved mysteries. None of us know but one, a small boy names James who is gifted with special powers. This is his story.

Chapter 1

The Chinese Angel Fish

"James! Come down here, your dinner is getting cold!" cried Mrs. Bartbee.

"Let him look through his telescope Darleen," said Mr. Bartbee.

"Coming!" yelled James, who was only eleven years old.

His parents had died in a car crash many years ago. So now, he lived with his aunt and uncle.

"We both know James is only eleven years old, let the boy have a little fun," Mr. Bartbee said smiling.

James came running down the steep stairs with photographs in his hands.

"Aunt Bartbee, Aunt Bartbee," James cried, "Look at the beautiful pictures I took of the sea!"

"My," Mrs. Bartbee said, "I've never seen these fish before."

"Neither have I," James confessed, "But, aren't they beautiful?"

"Make yourself useful boy, and come over here and show me these pictures."

James looked over to his uncle and laughed.

"Oh my goodness!" cried Uncle Bartbee, "Do you know what kind of fish this is?"

"No," answered James truthfully.

"This is a Chinese Angel Fish, this is."

"So?" said James.

"So, legend says that if you catch one of these babies, you get a wish." Mr. Bartbee explained.

"Aren't those Genies or something?" asked James.

"There are two things different, James," Uncle Bartbee said, "Genies give you three wishes, angel fish only give you one. And secondly, this wish is rule free."

"Do you believe in angel fish too Aunt Bartbee?" asked James curiously.

Mrs. Bartbee nodded her head.

"Well, do pictures count?" said James hopefully.

Aunt Bartbee smiled and said, "Sadly, no."

"I want to catch one, I want to catch one!" cried James out to the heavens.

Uncle Bartbee frowned and said, "No man has ever caught an angel fish before."

"That means…" James paused for a moment. "A woman has, but who?"

Uncle Bartbee looked at Aunt Bartbee.
