"Omi, please don't deny me any longer," Chase Young looked at the Monk's hesitant features and scowled. "This is not that hard of a choice."
"Oh, but it is!" Omi replied, waving his arms. His hands rubbed his temples. "Why should anything be so hard?"
"It's not, you're just making it hard," Chase almost wanted to roll his eyes. "You knew this moment would come. Why did you not think ahead?"
"I know!" Omi wailed. "But I don't know what to choose!"
"You only have two choices, and you have been destined for one from the start."
Silence followed as Omi's eyebrows hunkered down until they touched, his eyes focused and his breathing controlled. Chase Young watched with mild interest, sipping some tea. Somewhere in the background, a clock ticked.
"I cannot do this-"
"Should I choose for you?"
"Never! A Xiaolin Dragon has the strength and cunning to make his own choices! Rest assured, mine will be noble and well worth the wait."
"We have been sitting here for twenty minutes," Chase Young shot back dryly.
"A Dragon must consider his options carefully…"
"Oh for darkness's sake," Chase snapped at the waitress, "We'll both have the chicken!"
