Not a fall from grace, a literal fall.

One where it hurts to land.

That's what happened to you.

I didn't see it, none of us did, but we found you.

Gasping those last few pain filled breaths.

So much pain I wanted you to stop living right then, just so I didn't have to see you like that.

And then that stillness.

Eyes still open a little. Mouth shut.

Everything still, nothing and no one moving.

Never thought it would happen, not ever. Stupid really, knowing what we do, but still.

We accept death, we don't have to talk about it and think about it as well.

Don't know what we'll do with you. Never talked about that either, what we all would want at the end of the road.

Guess we'll talk about it later. We will.

Your still.

Today was your day, your last stand.

Your last everything.
