What Would Be

by Brambleclaw's Babe

Yo! This story was recommended by Skyfeather123:) Thanks for the idea, Skyfeather123:) Just so you know, this is gonna have a really sad ending...the story i mean. I decided that it was a oneshot...i couldnt think of it as a regular story...it wouldnt be long enough.

Fireheart stared. Who should he save? Should he save Bramblekit? Or should he save his lifelong friend, Yellowfang? If I save Yellowfang, she will continue serving ThunderClan for many moons. If I save Bramblekit, then...I will always feel as if Tigerstar's eyes are burning down my neck. Yellowfang had grabbed onto Bramblekit, and was taking him back to exit behind her den.

"No! Yellowfang! This way!" called Fireheart. The old she-cat turned, and fled the enterance...Bramblekit in her mouth, squirming.

"What about you?" she asked.

"I'll be fine...don't worry," he meowed. Yellowfang ran out of camp with Bramblekit squirming like there was no tommorow. Then, a branch fell ontop of him. He could see Spottedleaf standing in front of him.

"Fireheart. You have changed history by saving Yellowfang. She should have died, and you and Bramblekit should have escaped the fire together. Now, even though it rips my heart out, it is the orders of StarClan for me to stand here, and watch you die," she choked on her tears.

"Spottedleaf!" he called. The branch caught on fire, and the ginger tom slid out from under it, and fleed camp. It was when the RiverClan border was when he began to feel lightheaded. He collapsed, right infront of Sandstorm.

"FIREHEART!" she yowled.

"S-Sandstorm, i love..." he rasped, but, then before Sandstorm could ever know what he was going to say, he had gone.

"Oh, Fireheart. You will never know the truth. I love you! I loved you from the start. From the minute you walked into camp!" she yowled. Fireheart heard her. Before he left for StarClan with Spottedleaf, he sent her a last living message through the wind.

Oh Sandstorm...I love you...and always i will...i will watch over you.

Then, Spottedleaf took him. They went to StarClan together. Fireheart knew he should have saved Bramblekit, and now, ThunderClan would have to live on without him. So would Sandstorm.

"Oh, my fire," she sighed, crying. But from that moment on, he never let Sandstorm out of his sight. On earth, Sandstorm could feel his presence with her with every move she made. She was right. Fireheart would never leave her side.
