That Doesn't Really Work
Author's Notes: This is set sometime after 'Aliens of London' but before 'The Empty Child', therefore, no Jack. This is not my fault. I entirely blame my global teacher. I was innocently working on Chapter Four of Prove It when I was supposed to be doing the classwork, and I looked up at the board and he had the quote written there. -is making excuses-
Rose
opened the door to her mothers flat and frowned. Every surface in the
front room was covered with red fruit.
"Mum?"
"Rose!"
Jackie exclaimed, smiling. As her eyes landed on the Doctor the smile
vanished. "Doctor."
"Jackie." He
acknowledged.
Jackie sighed.
"What's all this then?"
Rose asked.
"Apples." Jackie said.
"I can see
that. Why so many apples?"
Jackie muttered something and
Doctors eyes lit up.
"That doesn't really work, you know."
He said in amusement.
"I can see that."
"Doctor,
what did she say?"
"An apple a day keeps the Doctor
away." He quoted with a maniacal grin.
