Title: Ain't Nothin'

Rating: PG-!3

Summary: Just something spur of the moment. Friday Night Lights Tim/Lyla-ish (2nd person POV)

Disclaimer: I don't own, etc.

Sometimes other people's girlfriends offer you something that's too tempting to resist. You're ashamed, but you always take it, don't you?

Even from your best friend's girl. Even from little Lyla Garrity. Well, not so little any more. You've noticedā€¦ been noticing for years now, just off in the shadows that Jason cast.

But why? Why her?

Because she's so innocent and so pure and you can lose yourself in her, the way you used to lose yourself in the game. The game means nothing now without Jason.

You're a realist. You know you're not getting out of this town. You're going no where so fast that every time you raise your head to breathe, the wind is knocked right out of you. You know that when this town looks at you, out of your uniform, all they see is a loser. A nobody. And you're bringing her down with you, aren't you? She's just the sweet kid you used to tease, pull on her pigtailsā€¦and you still do that, but it's not so innocent anymore, is it?

Didn't you imagine her like this? The two of you intertwined in the backseat of your brother's truck, sweating and coming inside of her so hard that you don't even remember a time before doing this.

You always envied him. Jason, with the perfect parents and perfect girlfriend, and perfect future laid out on a crystal platter.

You tell yourself you never wanted this. Not like this. But it doesn't stop you, does it? It doesn't make you turn her away.
