This is a Babe fic, only because of the GENIUS ending. Otherwise I'm neither a Babe or a Cupcake. I just go with the books.
"Let's go get some donuts," I said to Ranger, "I'm starving."
It was two in the morning and I was out on a stake-out with Ranger. We'd already finished all the chips and coffee, and I was hungry again.
"Babe, donuts will kill you," Ranger said, the almost smile tugging at his lips.
"No they won't. They make your life better."
"Oh yeah? How's that?"
"Reason number one: They're happy food."
"I can think of a lot of healthy food that is happy," Ranger said, shaking his head.
I glared at him. "Let me finish! Reason number two: They're and you can eat more than one at a time. Especially Krispey Kreme because they feel like air." I glanced at Ranger. He didn't say anything. "Reason number three: Some of them have fruit fillings so that makes them healthy. Reason number four: If you don't want to eat a whole one, you can get the mini ones. Reason number five: If you get too many--"
"Babe," Ranger interrupted, "The skip's here. Let's go,"

Ranger dropped me off at my apartment after we left our skip at the police station.
"I didn't get to finish my list of why Donuts are Essential," I said to him before closing the passenger door.
The half smile appeared. "Mail it to me," he said. And then he drove away.
I climbed up to my apartment, said Hi to Rex, and sat down at my computer. After half an hour I had a sufficient list. Now I just had to find a fun way to give it to Ranger. I didn't want to mail it to him. That would be boring. I looked at the clock. Three thirty. I shut down my computer and figured I'd think of something in the morning.
------------------------------------
Ranger's SUV was parked in front of the bonds office in the morning. I smiled to myself. Ranger never leaves his car locked when he's at the office and I had the list and a box of donuts. I left both on his driver's seat and went inside.
"Hey Connie, got any skips for me?"
"Just Mooner. Again."
Ranger's hand appeared on my neck. "Did you mail it to me?" he whispered against my ear.
"Yup," I lied.
I felt Ranger smile. Then he was gone.
"What list?" Lula asked me.
"A list of sex positions that I like," I said, deadpan.
Both Connie and Lula fanned themselves.

RANGER'S POV
I opened the driver's side door to the SUV and found a box of donuts. There was a typed list on top of the box.
Why Donuts are Amazing
They're happy food
They feel like air so you can eat more than one
Some even have fruit fillings for you health nuts
They come in bite-sizes
If you buy too many, you can just freeze them
They can be execellant seasonal decarations, depending on the color of the sprinkles
They always taste delicious
You can dunk them in your coffee
They come in neat little boxes
And last but not least,
They're not Cupcakes.
I smiled. No she wasn't.
