A/N: Someone said something in the forums which made this drabble click. I had an awesome title for it, but I fear it has slipped my mind.
A/N: This isn't beta-ed so… please excuse any weird errors I tend to make. (Though I've read this thing about five times… shrugs )
Zuko apathetically stirred his bowl of noodles with his chopsticks as Iroh poured himself a cup of tea. It was a usual dinner at the household. They would talk indecisively until their meals were finished, actually Iroh would talk and Zuko would reply sharply every now and then. After a while, silence would set in and Zuko would get up to go to sleep.
"You know you should try going out. Perhaps with a friend! What about that nice girl Jin?" Iroh said in his attempt to start up conversation.
"Uncle! Stop trying to set me up with other girls. I've said it before, I don't want to start a life here." The young man replied bitterly.
"Oh, but she was so sweet. I'm sure she and you had a good time on your date," he said elbowing his nephew's rips. Zuko recoiled, slightly annoyed.
"I don't want a girlfriend." He said sharply before returning to his meal. Iroh sighed and returned to his tea. He resigned not to bring the topic up again, since his nephew didn't seem willing to talk about it. Zuko suddenly got up; Iroh pulled him back down.
"Zuko, I want to talk to you."
"What?" He asked questioningly. Iroh sighed once more and patted his nephew gently on the shoulder. Zuko looked at his uncle and quirked his eyebrow.
"I have noticed that… that you do not like to be with certain types of people, and that you are more inclined to one type than normal. I as your uncle understand. It is okay to be different. I accept you for who you are." Iroh paused for a moment, "Although, I think it would've been nice to have some grand-nieces or nephews…" he said trailing off. Zuko considered this for a moment and paled.
"Uncle! For the last time, I'm not gay!"
