Summary: There's always that one little thing in particular that drives you nuts about someone...!

--

It wasn't the creepy fascination with sharp objects that bothered Ban so much now. He didn't mind too badly the obsession of competition – that drive to find a perfect match, that constant thirst for a worthwhile fight; these were things he understood well. He could even tolerate the goth-like costume and irritatingly fine manners.

But there was one thing above all others that drove Ban Midou nuts about his sometimes-enemy, sometimes-ally Akabane Kuroudo. Ban vowed he would win this battle of wills, as he struggled furiously to get back what rightfully belonged to him.

"Dammit, Akabane! Quit hogging the covers!"

--

It wasn't the puzzling fascination with Ginji-kun that intrigued Akabane so much now. He enjoyed their mutual competition – the challenge of besting each other coupled with the lust for occasional bloodletting; these were things he knew very well, even if Midou-kun didn't always cooperate. He tolerated the chain-smoking and swearing and appallingly coarse habits.

But there was one thing above all others that frustrated Akabane Kuroudo endlessly about his sometimes-enemy, sometimes-ally Ban Midou. Akabane was determined to win this battle of wills, one way or another.

"Midou-kun, I will thank you to stop using my hat as a spare ashtray."
