THE MAKEOVER
Cady looked around nervously, she was visiting Regina's house for the first time and was amazed at how big and expensive everything was:
"You have a great house" Cady Gushed
"I know!" Quipped Regina as she strutted confidently up the staircase and through the grand front door.
Cady briefly met Mrs George but barely had the chance to catch her breath before Regina, Gretchen and Karen ushered her upstairs to Regina's room. The room was huge, but Cady was getting used to that everything Regina had was bigger and better than everyone else's.
"Come on Cady" Gretchen coaxed grabbing her hand and leading her into the lavish en-suite bathroom.
"What's going on?" Cady enquired, she was feeling suitably disorientated as it was.
"We're doing a makeover silly" Karen chipped in
"You didn't think we would let you hang around with us dressed like that, did you?" delivered Regina with a poisonous smile.
"Umm I…." Cady looked at her reflection in the full-length mirror. She had never really thought about the way she looked before. She knew she was pretty, but as far as clothes and make-up went it had never been an issue in Africa. Studying herself more closely, though she began to see what her new friends meant.
"I mean, no offence honey, but you don't wear any make-up…at all!" Gretchen interrupted in a whisper, as if she was afraid that someone would hear.
"I guess I never really thought about it before" Cady confessed sheepishly. "I mean I could do with a bit of help with my clothes" she offered noticing for the first time how out of place she looked among 'the plastics'. Her plaid shirt and khaki trousers began to look pretty silly and immature compared to their miniskirts and Jimmy Choo sandals.
"Okay, then let's get started" an exasperated Regina uttered
Cady turned to face Regina who was laden with clothes and bottles of cosmetics.
Cady gulped as the three of them approached her with various instruments of torture like wax strips and tweezers. She began to think about those poor Gazelles in Africa after Pride of Lions had caught their scent. She closed her eyes and hoped for the best.
