Sakura couldn't quite muster the energy to follow her departing teammates and Kakashi noticed her lack of motion and stayed back as Naruto and Sasuke left the training ground. Hands stuffed deep into his pockets, he approached her slowly while analyzing her face. Shock was apparent along with despair and worry. He coughed to signal his presence and he watched her face clear to its customary blank slate.

"You seem happy," Her blank expression fell away as her eyebrows furrowed at his sarcasm.

"I'm very happy," She said flatly and he laughed at her obvious lie. She shuffled her feet awkwardly at his mirth before moving to unclasp the kunai holster at her waist.

"Thank you for lending these to me," She held the holster out to him. He shook his head and pushed it back towards her. She gave him a confused look at the action.

"Think of it as a congratulatory gift. For becoming an official genin." Her eyes clouded over, not with happiness at his statement, but with anger.

"Genin. Right. I'm a genin now…" She took a deep, shuddering breath before exhaling slowly. "Thank you, Kakashi-sensei." She spoke almost robotically before attempting to walk away. He grabbed her arm before she could get very far and the flinch she gave caused him to let go of her arm as if burned. She cast him a fearful look now and he sighed guiltily before scratching the back of his neck.

"Look, Sakura…I know your predicament." She inhaled sharply and back pedaled quickly to which he raised his palms forward in a calming gesture. "I know that you're not a citizen of Konoha and that you obviously have no desire to be one. And I know that you have no choice in this matter."

"But I would like to make this situation more comfortable for you if you desire." His words hung heavy in the air and Sakura wasn't sure what to make of it. Was he trying to say he would help her?

Sakura could admit right now that she needed his aid in becoming stronger. He was an obviously strong ninja and any training he could give her would help exponentially. And he had been very kind to her thus far…

"Training," She said shortly. "I want training."

Kakashi's stare was steely as he gazed at her. His distrust was almost palpable after Sakura stated her desire and she suddenly frowned at his form. She shook her head, realizing that perhaps they hadn't reached that point in their relationship and she had gone and screwed up whatever ally she had unwittingly made.

"Never mind," She said gruffly, the anger and frustration finding its way to her voice, and made to leave the area. He stopped her with his next words.

"What exactly do you need training in?"

She hesitated, not really sure where she should begin.

"Everything."

Kakashi tilted his head to the side and evaluated the pink haired girl. If this was some ploy to learn the forbidden techniques of Konoha she was being quite obvious about it.

But he rationed with himself that it would be a good way to gauge her abilities and to simultaneously learn some of her secrets.

"Very well." He agreed and he was graced by a rare smile from the pinkette.

"How's your taijutsu?" He asked, trying to pinpoint her strengths and weaknesses. The girl gave him a blank stare and he frowned.

"Ninjutsu? Genjutsu?" Still no reaction and Kakashi began to wonder if she was pretending to be confused or if she had mastered the art of hiding her emotions.

"…Chakra," He grasped feebly and was delighted to see a spark of recognition.

"Right, show me a physical representation of your chackra." Her face scrunched into confusion at the request and Kakashi could only stare at her incredulously. Surely this girl was asked to do something similar in her ninja academy. Children who failed to produce chakra physically were usually released from the academy, the only exception being Rock Lee.

"You did learn how to do these things at ninja academy right?" Sakura furrowed her brows then.

"I never went to an academy." Silence reigned after her words. If she never went to an academy then that means she wasn't a ninja. They had captured, tortured, and interrogated a civilian. But she couldn't be a civilian if she had developed chakra pathways. Only someone who practiced the right exercises and techniques could attain such a thing. Spontaneous chakra development was unheard of.

And how could her knowledge of Naruto be explained away? There was only one way to figure out the answers.

"Give me your hand." He said, holding out one of his own gloved ones. She blinked at the appendage. He wiggled his fingers invitingly, a casual smirk making its way to his face and she hesitantly placed her hand in his proffered one.

"Now I'm going to run some of my chakra through you so I can test out your chakra pathways. It should only be mildly uncomfortable, which is normal, but I'm going to need you to relax, alright?" She nodded her head in understanding. Kakashi collected a small amount of chakra into his palm and Sakura marveled at the tingling sensation that came from their joint hands. It was actually quite pleasant.

But then he poured a steady stream of his chakra through her and Sakura's mouth opened in a silent scream. The familiar, burning sensation caused tears to collect in her eyes, and her stomach to rumble aggressively. She could only last three seconds before she immediately pulled away and threw up to the side.

That had felt exactly like one of her chemotherapy sessions but jumped up by 10. She felt Kakashi come up to rub her back soothingly and she shakily wiped her mouth of any excess vomit. She felt drained and wavered on jelly like legs. Just when she was about to keel over she felt her self being picked up bridal style. Looking up she was graced with an obviously distressed Kakashi. And that was the last thing she saw before she passed out.

Kakashi stared down at his unconscious student and felt a wave of Déjà vu. But he pushed those feelings aside at the revelation he had after doing the test on Sakura. For one, she did have developed chakra pathways equivalent to that of a genin, albeit a very weak one. But these chakra pathways shriveled up near any of the exit points. Sakura had never, in her life, expelled any type of chakra from her body.

Which meant that she wasn't a ninja; not even close to being one.

And they had pretty much doomed her to die by making her one.

So incredibly tired so I'm just gonna say thanks for all the reviews. I'll be sure to answer any questions in my next chapter.
