Theme: 17. kHz (kilohertz)
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters mentioned.

When Kayashima first entered the room he shared with Nakatsu, he managed to duck out of the way and avoided being smacked in the face by the notebook. Ashiya, however, had not been so lucky.

The girl rubbed her red nose, cringing slightly in pain as she stared at what appeared to be Nakatsu's physics homework.

"Kilohertz?" She asked, reading the notes that Nakatsu had managed to scribble on the page.

"Ah! Mizuki! Did I hit you? I'm so sorry!" Nakatsu leapt to his feet and began apologizing, taking the notebook out of Ashiya's hand and tossing it aside once more. He insisted on taking Ashiya to Umeda-sensei's office and apologized again for ruining Ashiya's cute nose.

Meanwhile, Kayashima was debating whether or not he should be jealous of the situation. The attention that Nakatsu lavished on Ashiya made him jealous at times, though he might not show it. But it was hardly Nakatsu's fault, because Nakatsu had no idea that his own roommate was in love with him.

Nakatsu started to drag Ashiya out of the door, ignoring the girl's protests and insistence that a bruised nose was hardly an excuse to go bother Umeda-sensei. But before he walked through the door, Nakatsu paused, picking up the notebook that he had thrown earlier.

"Hey, Kayashima?"

"Hmm?"

"Didn't you miss last physics class because you had a headache?" Nakatsu asked.

Indeed, Kayashima had missed that class because his head felt like it was about to explode. Sleepless nights spent thinking about his current dilemma had left him exhausted and unable to control his powers and concentrate on the class at the same time. He was rather surprised that Nakatsu remembered.

"Here you go." Nakatsu said, handing the notebook over to him. "I know my handwriting sucks, but you're one of the only people who can read it, right?" He grinned widely at Kayashima and then pushed Ashiya out of the door.

Kayashima was left staring after them and then at the notebook in his hand. It was a battered old thing, even though he knew that Nakatsu had purchased it only two months earlier. He ran his fingers over the surface of the abused notebook, feeling slightly happy that Nakatsu had given him his notes, though he knew that Nakatsu's notes tended to be very confusing. He would daydream in class and forget to write down a portion of the things written on the board. But it was the thought that counted anyway.

Kayashima kissed the notebook and hugged it to his chest. This was enough for now.
