Disclaimer: I don't own all this.
There wasn't much to say about Pansy Parkinson. Sure, she was Slytherin, which meant she must be clever and sly. Sure, she was a sixth year now, meaning she must have learned something in all her years at Hogwarts, but really, was there anything to say about her?
The pug-nosed girl sighed as she rested her chin on her hands, staring at her reflection in the mirror. Dark hair, dark eyes, clear complexion, yes… nose a little bit squashed looking… overall she was average. The only things that stood out about her were her friends.
There was Draco, whose father was rich and famous and close to the Dark Lord. There was Blaise, whose mother was famously beautiful and he himself also had Witch Weekly's Handsomest Wizards and Witches looks. Even Vincent and Greg had fathers who were connected to He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. But Pansy… there really wasn't anything to say about her.
Sure, she was quick. She always had an insult ready for when Potty and Weasel and the Mudblood were around. And above all that, Draco always laughed at her insults. He found her funny. And that was what was important to her, making Draco laugh, not scoring points on the do-gooder Gryffindors.
But lately, Draco hadn't been laughing. He claimed he had a mission, claimed that he was above petty things such as insulting Potty and Weasel. When he'd said that, Pansy hadn't known what to say. All her years at Hogwarts she had wormed her way into his good graces by insulting them, by proving she was loyal to him by doing that. He had even asked her to the Yule Ball because of that. And yet now he wasn't interested in it?
She didn't know what to do. She couldn't help him with his mission; he'd made that abundantly clear and suddenly he didn't seem to have an interest in the things they used to do. He didn't study with her anymore or take part in the chess games that sometimes went on in the Common Room. He didn't like going for walks or taking breaks by the lake anymore. She really didn't know what to do. She'd worked so hard to get into his inner circle, and now he didn't even want to be around her anymore. After six years of a Hogwarts education that was all she really had to show for it: she'd gained access to Draco Malfoy's inner circle. And now all that was falling apart.
There really wasn't much to say about Pansy Parkinson, other than that she feared she was losing Draco Malfoy.
