Authors' Notes: I had a lot of fun writing this. My inspiration comes from a magazine page that I liked with a lot of inspirational words. The page starts at the top by saying I AM . . . then all the words followed in different fonts and colors. I thought that the group should play, yay for the group!
I OWN NOTHING.
Please read, review and enjoy!
"Okay, Mimi-Chica you start."
Mimi took the bottle of stoli that Collins had brought and poured some of the contents into a mug. The dancer sat on her boyfriend's lap, holding the mug.
"Hmmm . . . I am . . . ageless!"
The group nodded and smiled at Mimi in response as she took a sip of her alcohol.
"Ooo that was a good one Chica, bueno." Angel said crossing her legs. "Your turn Rog." Collins said.
Roger grabbed the cup and thought for a moment.
"I am . . . happy." He said as he kissed Mimi's cheek. The dancer's smile grew wide at him watching him drink the rest of the contents. Placing the cup on the floor beside him, he pulled Mimi into a deep kiss.
"Oh God guys, get a friggin' room!" Maureen said grabbing the bottle from Mimi's hand. "It's my turn now!"
The performance artist plopped herself on Joanne's lap. "I am . . . faithful!"
The room fell silent. Angels' eyes grew wide. "Mo, choose another word honey."
"Why? My word is good! I am faithful, right pookie?" Maureen was clearly not understanding.
Joanne didn't even look at Maureen as she spoke back to her. "Pick another word Maureen."
The performance artist huffed. "Fine. I am . . . never late!"
Mark sighed. "Another please."
Roger smirked at Maureen. "Johnson, you're supposed to pick words that are one . . . true and two . . . that fit who you are."
"Shut the hell up Davis. What the hell do you mean? I'm never late!"
Joanne began to loose her patience. "Dammit Maureen, pick another word so I can get my drink!"
Maureen stuck her tongue out at her girlfriend. "I am . . . noticeable."
"Finally!" Mark said. "Give Joanne the bottle."
"Wait a minute! I haven't taken my swig yet!" Maureen took a huge swig like a pro handing it to Joanne who quickly snatched it from her. "I am hardworking." The lawyer herself took a healthy swig and yelled out immediately buzzed. "Woah Collins, this is some good shit!"
Angel clasped her hand over her mouth stifling a giggle. Collins heartily laughed out loud. "I knew you'd like it Jo."
Joanne held out the bottle toward Angel. "Your turn Angel!" The street drummer laughed at her semi-drunkenness. "Nope. I want to go last. Go Marky."
Mark grabbed the bottle taking his glasses off in deep concentration.
The lawyer tried to whisper but still came out yelling. "What's wrong with Mark!"
"Shhh pookie! He's concentrating. Oh, he's so sexy when he concentrates."
Joanne slapped Maureen on the arm. "I heard that Miss I'm Faithful!"
"Oh yeah, what about you Miss I Am Hardworking! You don't seem to try to work very hard giving me an orgasm!"
"LADIES!" Angel yelled. "It's not your turn anymore, have a seat."
The two sat quickly.
Angel turned from them to face Mark. "I'm sorry Mark, go ahead when you're ready."
The film maker looked up at his friends. "I am . . . valuable."
Collins smiled at his old friend, for so long he knew that Mark was struggling with his self worth and to hear him say this meant that Mark was finally realizing that even though he felt worthless at times, the whole group needed him.
Mark took his swig, handing it to Collins who poured a generous amount into his cup. "Hmm, let's see here." He said trying to think of a good word. "I am . . . imaginative." He took his swig, leaving a good amount of Angel to have. The drag queen looked around at all of her friends, the people that had become her family and smiled. "I am . . . lucky."
