It was Christmas at Tonks' home; a quiet happy atmosphere in the festive holiday.

"Oh! Remus!"

Remus walked down the stairs and nearly toppled over when Tonks jumped into his arms, wrapped her legs around his waist and put her arms around his neck. To say Remus was surprised would be an understatement.

Speaking in baby voice, Tonks said affectionately, "A Remus. I've always wanted a Remus for Christmas. When I was little, I would ask my mum, 'mummy can I have a Remus for Christmas when I grow up?' And she would reply," she put on her mother's exact voice, "'No Nymphadora' – Merlin I hate that name. What if Merlin was named Nymphadora? Do you think he'd hate his name too? Do you think we would be swearing by his last name? Do you know what Merlin's last name is? Maybe, saying Merlin is his last name, then what's his first name? What is his name? Is his name Merlin Merlin?" She giggled, realized she was sidetracking, and blushed. "Anyway," she continued in her mother's voice, "'Remus's are rare and expensive and rare and you can't have one'."

Remus still appeared as shocked. "Uh… Tonks…I'm not your Christmas present."
Tonks blinked, on the verge of tears.
"But I can be."

Remus stepped under the mistletoe.

"Ya-"

Tonks' joy of "yay" was cut off by Remus kissing her.

As he was kissing her, he carried her over to a chair sat her down, joining a seat next to her.

"Since I'm going to be your Christmas present, lets make it official." Remus smiled fondly at Tonks. "Besides, I need to give you your other Christmas gift as well."

He got down, on one bended knee.

"Nymphadora Tonks, will you marry me?"

She cried.

"Ye-e-e-s," she sniffed, before breaking into sobs, "Yes, yes, yes!"

"But Mr. Lupin," she said quickly. "Even though we'll be married, and my new last name will be Lupin: it's still just Tonks. Don't you dare call me the 'N' word'."
