The Line

This is an ambiguous piece of poetry more inspired by House and Cameron's relationshipthan actually written specifically about it. It heavily references my own romantic issues, as well. Those of you who frequented the H/C community over at LiveJournal around September might recognize it - it was written some time ago.

Enjoy!

There is a line and you're walking it
There are sides and you're not taking them
There is a silence and you're not breaking it
There are problems and you're not solving them.

There is something that's not quite right
There are angles and they all frustrate
There are circles and we're speaking in them
There is something about this I can't conjugate.

There is something and we're dancing around it
There are riddles and we're making them
There is a game and we're both playing it
There are limits and we're breaking them.

There is an insecurity and we both have it
There is an obsession and it is us
There is a pride and we strain to keep it
There is no winning or losing for either of us.

There are roles and we both play them
There is a facade and we both hide behind it
There are rehearsals and we never miss them
There is no longer distinction between feeling and habit.

There are hits and there are misses
There is off and there is on
There is no time for reminiscence
There is touched and there is gone.

There is love and it's unrequited
There is romance and it doesn't exist
There is a vision and it's blighted
There are things you don't say and they speak the loudest.

There is a line and it's thick and it's fine
There are sides and you can't decide on one
There is a silence and it's not benign
There is our problem and to solve it. . .

You must cross.
